had a tummy tuck with Dr. Paul Oxley, and it has truly been life-changing — even at just one month post-op.
From the beginning, the consultation was clear, efficient, and informative. I had previously undergone liposuction with Dr. Oxley twice, which did help, but after my 20s, 30s, and having a child, I knew I was ready for something more transformative. I had hesitated for years, but choosing to move forward with a tummy tuck and muscle repair was absolutely the right decision.
With so many modern options like lasers and non-invasive treatments, I can honestly say that the traditional tummy tuck still delivers real, lasting results. I’m also grateful that drains were used — it gave me peace of mind knowing everything was healing properly.
Dr. Oxley truly understood my goals and was transparent and straightforward throughout the process. The entire team — from the anesthesiologists to the nurses — was professional, efficient, and incredibly caring. I felt safe and well taken care of at every step.
I personally didn’t take any of the stronger pain medications — only prescribed Motrin — and honestly, I think women are often a lot tougher than men when it comes to recovery. The first few days were definitely rough. I felt very weak and sore, but overall my healing went surprisingly smoothly. Recovery really depends on the individual and how your body heals, and fortunately mine progressed well.
One difference I noticed compared to years ago was how the communication system is set up now. In the past, it felt more personal, where you had one consistent go-to person throughout the process. Now it seems more divided between different staff members — for example, Maureen, who answers calls remotely, Julie at the front desk, and the nurse who was very friendly and helpful. Everyone was kind and professional, but at times it felt like the different people didn’t fully communicate with each other.
That said, because my healing was going well, it ultimately wasn’t a major issue for me.
I had a lot of fear going into surgery, especially around safety, but those fears were completely eased. Focusing on rest and recovery made a huge difference, and seeing the results so early on has been amazing.
Overall, I cannot recommend Dr. Oxley and his clinic enough. Having gone back multiple times for different procedures says everything. I feel like I’ve regained my confidence — and that’s priceless.
