doctor. I had an extended tummy tuck, 360 lipo, mini BBL, breast uplift and arm lipo.
From the beginning, the doctor was professional, attentive and very reassuring. He speaks clear English, takes time to explain everything properly and genuinely cares about his patients. What stood out the most for me was his level of care even after surgery, he checked in regularly and even came to my hotel in the evening to remove my drains after I mentioned how uncomfortable they were to sleep with. That level of dedication and bedside manner is rare and deeply appreciated.
He also went the extra mile by helping remove a keloid scar I had from a previous gastric sleeve surgery done two years ago by another doctor, which meant a lot to me.
The hospital experience itself was good, and I especially loved the night nurses, they were kind, patient and incredibly supportive. This is definitely a surgery where you need extra help and although I initially came alone (which I do regret), I ended up hiring a companion which made a big difference in my recovery.
My only negative experience was with the coordinator I was assigned. While I understand she went through a personal loss during my stay, I unfortunately felt that the communication and support were lacking. It also felt like there was a shift in attitude when it became clear I would be paying by card instead of cash. At times it came across as if there was an attempt to push for additional costs. I did raise this concern with the doctor and other coordinators.
Despite that, my experience with the doctor himself was excellent and I am truly happy with my results so far. If you’re looking considering surgery, just make sure you have adequate support during recovery, it makes all the difference.
My incisions look amazing, I’m back in South Africa and my lymphatic drainage nurse keeps complimenting them.
