Hi everyone. Wanted to get started with my journey here since seeing everyone else's ha so helpful. Attached are my pictures. I'm considering a tummy tuck. I've had 5 c sections all through that same ugly vertical scar and as you can see I have diastasis recti. Tubes are tied and I'm done with the babies. I'd actually started researching 2 babies ago - you can see those belly pictures on my old account babybellygo (couldn't remember password). Anyway, No amount of exercise is going to fix this. My main issue is that I look pregnant and I hate that. I just want to look nice in clothes. I don't necessarily want a "snatched" waist - I want one that's appropriate for my body. I just don't want to look like I'm pregnant. That's my motivation. I'm really scared though of not waking up after the surgery. I'm scared of doing something just for vanity and ending up having major issues. I haven't yet chosen a provider. I live in MS and would need to travel somewhere for the procedure. Right now I have a list of doctors in Nashville, GA, and Birmingham that I'm looking at. Those would be reasonable drives for me since I wouldn't want to fly after surgery. Anyway just wanted to share. I'm in the very early stages right now but wanted everyone to know that this was a real person's account. Lol. I'm hoping to have the procedure done sometime next year so that I can wear a nice swimsuit for my 40th birthday.

Good for you! I'll be following since I'm in the same boat! All c/s, done with kids, starting researching 1 baby ago. I think I've narrowed it down to a couple surgeons in my area (CA). Can't wait to read your updates!

Hi! What is your timeframe? I would actually love to get it done while we're all quarantined so I can look like I've just been working out when I finally go back to the office. You'll have lots of great options out in CA.

I'm looking at a 6-7 month time frame cause I know I can lose another 20-25lbs and I'd rather do it before the surgery. Ive already lost 150lbs and I've gone in between the idea of a body lift or an extended tummy tuck. I've finally decided after months of research to go with the extended tummy tuck. I still have 2 weeks of unused vacay waiting in the wings so I'll use that time for my tuck. If I was already at my goal weight I would totally do it now during quarantine too!

First consultation - Dr. Song

fatbellybelle
I had a virtual consult with Dr. Song of Duluth GA yesterday evening. I was immediately very comfortable speaking with him. He spent around 45 minutes just explaining the procedure, the risks, the process, and going over my photos. I left the consultation feeling very informed. He told me that I was a higher risk for belly button issues due to a prior umbilical hernia repair. We talked about the pros and cons of having the surgery at the facility versus at the hospital. He felt like he could give me a nice contour based on the photos. Based on the reviews I’ve seen of his work and yesterday’s consultation, I’m strongly leaning in his direction despite the distance. His coordinator was really nice and prompt as well.

Does this PS think he can create a flat tummy for you? Does he want to include lipo with a full TT w/MR? Most times PS want you to be at your ideal weight before TT sx. Can't wait to follow your journey. Take care.

Hi! Than for commenting! I should've included my stats. Despite that huge belly, I'm actually around 150 lbs and 5'4 so my BMI is good. Well, pre quarantine that was my weight. Prior to surgery I'd like to get as low as possible. In my adult life that's been 147. Dr. Song said he should be able to create a nice contoured waistline with just a little flank lipo. I don't want to be super snatched, I just don't want to look pregnant anymore.

Do you have a date scheduled yet? Can't remember if you told me or not? How are things going now?
October 18, 2020
Hi! No date yet. Trying to decide between December and March. I thought December would be good since kids would be out of school, less back and forth for my husband to handle alone, but also it's 2020 and the way the year is going I don't know that I want to chance it in this year. Thought March would be good to do during spring break since the kids would be out then too. There really isn't a right time, I'm leaning more towards December. Working on weaning baby right now. Just passed the first 24 hours so hopefully he's done and it's one less thing to worry about. I'm still leaning towards Dr Song but am looking at Unger in Nashville (not a lot of reviews though) and another in Memphis whose name escapes right right now. But her work doesn't look as clean as Song's but she's closer to me which would make the logistics better.

My stats

fatbellybelle
I’m 5’4” and 150(pre quarantine). I’ve gained around 5 pounds and plan to get as low as possible before surgery, targeting 147 which is the lowest I’ve been in my adult life.
