Day 16
I will post pictures for you guys when I make it home. So I saw a PS in my area. He agreed to look at it but would not “touch” another surgeons work which I understand. So it is definitely seroma and it is painful as hell. Now my PCP is acting like I can’t be seen until the 24th. There is no way I can last that long. I just want my old stomach back I swear. I don’t even like to shower since it’s painful to take off the garment. The fluid is all built up in my pubic region and lower stomach. When I push it up it feels better but then the fluid moves to my upper stomach. I have a desk job but when I get up to use the rest room it’s so painful. I’m also getting back spasms as well. It feels like a contraction and probably comes every 30 minutes.

Day 13!
Hi Guys, so I am writing this so bad. So my lower region of my belly and pubic area has been hurting like crazy. My first thought was swelling. I was told to take drain one out day 7 and drain 2 our day 10 which I did. I think I have developed SEROMA! I am sooo mad. Im like what did I do wrong. I know this is not uncommon with a tummy tuck. My stomach feels like a water bed or waves when I push on it. I live in Wisconsin and my PS is in Miami. I have contacted him and I’m waiting on a reply back. Should I try to see if my PCP will assist with draining it. Contact a PS in my area to see if they will assist (sure a cost is included) or will my body absorb it??

Hi there. Have you been wearing a compression garment? Usually, this helps with the prevention of swelling and the fluid retention. I had the watery feeling as well but it was immediately after surgery...I think the first two to three days after and if I did not wear my compression garment it was worst. 12 days post out retaining that much fluid is indeed an area of concern. I would look into fluid pills from your primary care provider such as "Furosemide" and be sure you're eating as clean as possible. And you should be drowning yourself in "drinking water".... In addition, good compression garments are MariaE "FAJAS" they sell them on Amazon around $80.00 +. Hope everything works out well and I'm pretty sure it's just one of those annoying side effects we have in this process. Just make sure you have no areas warm to the touch or any redness....this should not be difficult to resolve via your PS in Miami. Hope you get the assistance you need.
I’m hoping you are doing okay. I had my final drain removed Friday exactly a month free surgery and felt like a million bucks and got into a bikini and cried I was so happy and grateful. I went riding on my motorcycle and had a fabulous day yesterday finally drain free. today I woke up all swelled up and my pubic area specifically where the drains were are puffy and red now! I just got done with my second round of antibiotics. anyhow I guess my point is every day is different! and I think you’re smart and know your body well. if u think u need attention then go with it! best in your recovery!Jill
yes no redness or anything. i will ask my PCP about the pills. And yes I only take my garment off to shower. i will look into another compression garment as well. I’m praying this works. but yes no signs of infection nor fevers or anything
oh my! How are you feeling now? My fear is exactly what you are experiencing. being away from PS and need medical attention. Sending prayers your way.
I saw a PS in my area. he agreed to look at it but wouldn’t do the work on it. he said that since I don’t have a fever and no signs of infection I should just continue to wear my garment. I’m like idk about that. i will see what happens in the next few days
What did he charge you? What a jerk! Hope you are healing!

Day 6
Hi Guys! So I am now 6 days post op. I love my results my stomach is so flat. I am now home and still draining of course. Dr. Alex Z said that my right drain can be taken out at day 7 and my left drain at day 10. I will text Dr. Alex 4/2 and see what he says. I feel like I’m still draining on my right side too much for it to be taken out. The second pic is day 3. My belly button is so nice. I definitely can’t wait to shape it a little more. Right now I am letting nature take its course. I will get a massage sometime this week just to release some fluid and tension I’m feeling.
