Finally!!!!!! I have been wanting a TT for more than 15 years. I found RealSelf about 5 years ago and been stalking ever since. Tonight I decided to stop stalking and share my journey. I’m turning 50 in 7 months. I have 5 children and 1 grandchild. It’s finally my time. I’m trying mentally prepare myself. I feel like I’m having a brain freeze right now. I think I’m so excited I can’t think straight. I can’t believe it’s almost here. Next week on May 1, 2018 I’m going under and waking up on the flat side. I’m so excited, but so scared at the same damn time. I am looking forward to words of encouragement, and any wisdom.

My tummy looked like yours and it’s flat now!! You will do great! The week prior is the most nerve racking. Day 1 goes by in a flash. The pain for me was my upper abs where they did the muscle repair. I never once felt pain near the incision. It was completely numb. Your long wait will be worth it!

Thank you. It helps me to know that your tummy looked like mine. I’m really nervous about the pain. There are so many mixed reviews. some people had pain pumps and till had a lot of pain. Others did not have a pain pump and said that the pain was tolerable. some also talked about exparel injections. I only took a week and a half off work, Do you think that’s enough time?

It depends on what your job is. I saw one YouTube recovery vlog of a chick who went back to work as a nurse at week 1!!! Insane I’m not sure how she managed that. I began working from home at 10 days post op and it was fine just sitting at my couch on the computer. I went back to the office at my desk job at 3 weeks post op and it was fine. I was uncomfortable and hunched over a bit but I wasn’t miserable. I was quite sore once home from work that first week back but felt good by morning. I did not have a pain pump. I stopped taking pain meds at day 4 dpo and took like quarters of them here and there if I over did it. Mostly I just used Tylenol. Not because I wasn’t in pain, but I hated the fog of the meds, but it was okay with just Tylenol. I am now almost 8 weeks post op and my upper abs still hurt. Not all the time, just with certain movements, too tight of compression, and upon standing up. The first week was the worst part of it. It feels like you do a million crunches and never let go of the crunch part. You will feel very tight, and sore. Everyone handles pain differently and I personally think that it depends on how tight your muscles were repaired. I had two hernias repaired with mesh at the same time as my tt. One tip is when you are feeling good, pretend you are still feeling shitty! Your body will fake you out. I would feel good and do stuff around the house or go to the store and bam! A few hours later it catches up to you and you are like days backward in recovery. I went to the store at 2 weeks post op and tried on compression garments. Went home and for the next week I felt like I just had surgery. I thought I ruined everything. I had to recover all over again. Let me know if you have any more questions, I’ll answer it all! I wish I had someone to ask questions to

Day 3 post op

I haven’t really figured out how to add updates and post pics. I also did a review trying to give my doc 5 stars but somehow I only gave him a few. He was great. His staff is AWSOME. They did a wonderful job and made me feel very comfortable. I’m feeling pretty good. The pain is definitely a lot better than what I expected. It’s very tolerable. I’m jut using the ibuprofen and it’s working fine.

I had my consultation this past Saturday and my surgery is scheduled for June 19th. I am so nervous but reading your review I'm pretty sure I'm in good hands. Also, my stomach looks like yours so if Dr. Ashruf did it for you I know he can do it for me. Good luck with your recovery ☺️

I was really nervous as well. But once I was there the morning of surgery it all went away. The surgical staff made me feel soooo comfortable. The anesthesiologist and the nurse were great. You are in great hands. I’m sure you will be happy with your outcome. I keep looking at my stomach in disbelief. I can’t believe I look like I do in a pair of pants. I’m so used to trying to find something to fit over and hide my stomach!!!! I can even see my cooch now!!!!! I can’t wait until all the swelling goes. Feel free to reach out to me anytime. It’s good to talk with someone that is going through the same process. Good luck to you!!!

itching

almosthere2018
I had my tummy tuck with Lipo on May 1st. Everything is going well. Pain is tolerable. But I started to have severe itching. It started late in the day and just got worse as the evening went on. I took Benadryl it helped for about a hour now but the itching returned. It’s so bad that I can’t sleep. I know that itching usually means that things are healing. However I haven’t read anything about itching with a tummy tuck. So did anyone out here have this terrible itching. If so do you know of anything I can do to calm it down???
