Post op 2nd week - 1 month

Week 2
(Wednesday) went into the office today. Had to do more manual labor than expected. Was planning on showering today but was too tired when I got back. Ending up washing my hair in the sink. Falling, staying, and going back to sleep is still hard. I'm used to 8-10 hours of sleep and since the 4th day post op I haven't been getting more than 6.
(Thursday) went into the office again. Same as yesterday. This would be 2 weeks post op. (Friday) easy day working from home. Wanted to shower but ended up just washing my hair in the sink. (Saturday) busy day went to Costco and the eye doctor. Lots of walking then traveled to Brooklyn to visit a friend. We got dinner at a Turkish restaurant had to wait an hour. Slept on a regular bed for the first time. 4 hours only then switched to a recliner for 2 more hours. Sleeping had been rough after the first week. (Sunday) up making breakfast then again for lunch, shopping at TJX. Then making dinner. The last 2 days I've been on my feet a lot and I'm starting to feel it. The whole area where I had something done radiates heat and I'm a bit more swollen. Everything is sore. Slept in a bed again for 4 hours before switching to the recliner. (Monday) I regret the weekend It was too much activity. I'm soooo swollen because of it, everything aches. I went back to taking pain killers. But I needed a shower so I took one. I feel fresh and clean but showers are still exhausting. (Tuesday) unfortunately still swollen. Went into the office today. Did light manual labor which would have been totally fine if I don't over do it on the weekend. (Wednesday) same as yesterday. Too tired to even wash my hair in sink. Will try to sleep in a bed. (Thursday) same as the day before. (Friday) slept in a bed last night. Today I felt significantly better. Took a full shower today without feeling winded at the end of it. Swelling has gone down. Working from home today. The improvement is a huge relief especially after a week of plateaued recovery. (Weekend) consistently feeling better some of the raised parts of my scar has started to flatten out. Hard lumps on my side Boob area are still irritating since I'm a side sleeper, I've been massaging it out. ( Monday ) I'm working from home today. Feeling better, took a shower and started using silicone tape to help with scar healing. Still trying to massage out hard lumps and I think it's working. They used to feel like tennis balls and now it feels like a water balloon still distinct in shape though. The lumps that are on top of bone structure like my rib cage does hurt when I'm massaging it out. (Tuesday) silicone sheet aren't sticking that well. Feeling about the same, started to try wiping from front to back but still a bit difficult with the hard lumps on my back. (Wednesday) feeling about the same as yesterday went into work to the office. (Thursday) same. (Friday) work from home Wash my hair and listen instead of taking a full shower the lumps in the bra fat area are starting to get smaller. Sleeping on my sides getting more comfortable. (Saturday) I started water fasting today It was not easy at all felt hungry all the time and we had ribs in the house and pasta. (Sunday) second day of fasting is not an easier which is so different from the first time I fasted where the first three days were pretty easy and it got hard around fifth day. Almost gave up around 3pm. Reapplied my silicone sheets they stuck much better still not long enough though. Body's looking great. (Monday) day 3 of fast still not getting easier. Do tired and lethargic. Went into the office. Body is the same. Sleeping is more comfortable (Tuesday) day 4 of fast. Still craving food but didn't wake up tired and lethargic so that's an improvement. I got my period It was extremely light for day one. I had to go into the office again today. Body is the same (Wednesday) got only 2 hours of sleep. Just laid in bed we awake. Other times I was there and my eyes were heavy with Sherri but the rest of my body was restless. Day 5 of fast. I was planning on going longer but I'd my mother's birthday today. (Thursday) Body is feeling the same. Doing keto. Went into the office, had to do a bit of manual labor at work fortunately no swelling when I got back. (Friday) same as yesterday thought my period was over but it has come back. (Saturday and Sunday) same as yesterday. Is light spotting. Didn't really notice any extra swelling from yesterday's activities. (Monday) work from home everything's the same. (Tuesday) went into the office weight loss seems to be plateauing swelling seems to be the same scar is getting much better. (Wednesday) another day in the office nothing special. (Thursday) working from home the days seem to be blending into each other nothing seems to be different. (Friday) working from home still have trouble sleeping swelling seems to have drastically gone down feel much better The soreness in my back is minimal. Soreness everywhere else is virtually non-existent except for the side boob area. I could sleep on my back comfortably and my sides comfortably but they're still insomnia. Started fasting again after a week of eating keto. The tighter compression garment is not feeling as uncomfortable as it was a week ago. (Weekend) same. (Monday- Tuesday) same (Wednesday) ended fast. Ate not keto. Gained water weight back. With keto I didn't gain the water weight back. (Thursday) same. (Friday) started fasting again.(Saturday) no weight lost yet.

Post op diary entries

With the first post op appointment the next day.( I was keeping surgery a secret from family.) I had hired a caretaker from Craigslist to watch me for 2 days ($250 for first day + overnight and $150 for 2nd day) I stayed at a hotel 10 mins away. I took the antibiotics after drinking some yogurt and eating some nuts. I did not take the pain medicine. The next day (Friday) my diet include drinkable yogurt, water, Gatorade, pasta salad, chicken salad, watermelon, pistachios and walnuts for snacking and chocolate pudding. I tried to avoid salt since it increased swelling. They said I shouldn't take off my garment but I had already leaked through the padding by 10am that morning. This leaking was from the lipo, fluids for the tummy tuck come out through the drains. Crotch part of garment is velcro and is scratchy so I used a thin period pad as a barrier. One of my drains was barely filling while the other was normal. I was able to work remotely from my hotel room so I didn't have to take a day off work. At the appointment they checked my vitals and asked some questions told me I can shower the next day. Said the drain situation is ok. I still haven't had a chance to look at my body at this point. Next appointment was to remove drains next week. Pain this day wasn't bad most of the time I was taking the pain meds every 6 hours. The most uncomfortable is the 2 minutes right after you get up from sleeping or napping your back is stuff and sore. Next day (Saturday) pain was a notch up from previous day so I switched pain medicine to every 4 hours, otherwise everything is the same as the day before. I was completely by myself most of the day. a friend brought over grilled fish with rice, soup and salad for dinner. (Sunday) I checked out of the hotel and Ubered back home (~30 mins away). I haven't poop before this as pain meds make you constipated. I drank a cup of prune juice and an hour or 2 later I had my first poop. I fortunately got a bidet near the beginning of Covid due to the shortage of toilet paper and it was a great help here as it was very difficult to wipe by myself ( arched back and twisted waist is pretty much impossible, you'll have to go back the front). I also have a recliner at home so i started sleeping in the recliner, which is much better than a bed. Pain is a little worst than the day before due to moving traveling by myself and moving a lot but not as painful as day 2. Drains are really slowing down. The only leaking from other incisions is the one on my lower back and a bit from the incision where my right drain is connected to. Dr andan is about the curves but the girdle does not understand that. If I put it on to fit my waist it's too tight near my hips. If I fit it to my hips I don't get compression around my waist. Brightside amazing hip - waist- breast portions. Next day (Monday), still waking up in the middle of the night to take pain killers and use the restroom. Got my period, which is a week early. Working remotely from 9am-6pm. I feel almost normal today. By the end of the day going from a sitting to standing position didn't fill me with dread, there's still some stiffness and lower back ache. Routine before included using one arm to hold on to a stable surface and pulling forward while the other arm is push my upper body up supporting my back. Now I get up normally just out of much slower speed. And I am about to stand up straighter. Drains are virtually empty It doesn't even reach the 25 line for both and most is a yellow fluid vs blood. Had yogurt, grapes, nuts, salad and pita bread. Was able to poop today without the help of prune juice.
(Tuesday) is that same as the day before.
(Wednesday) I went back and got my drains removed and some of outside stiches removed. Rest of the stiches will desolve. Haven't had a full view of myself yet.
(Thursday) went into the office for work. Took the train in the morning. I have an office job, I did do some walking and standing, didn't lift anything heavier than 10lbs. There were only 3 of us in because of Covid. On one noticed anything different about me. I wore a loose flowly dress on top of the garment and girdle and being swollen.
(Friday) it's been 2 days since getting drains removed. Those holes should be pretty much sealed so I took a full shower. No running or scrubbing. I diluted some body wash and water and just poured it over my body with a cup multiple times, rinse and then repeat with the antibacterial cleanser but I was required to buy. Washed my hair like normal. This is the first time I saw my full body naked. the scar is raised hopefully it will heal better. I could see how swollen I am but the tummy overhang is no longer there. Just that alone makes me feel like it was worth it and this is only a week into recovery. Which makes me quite optimistic. Just having compression garment off for even just half an hour is exhausting. Put on Neosporin over the scar put my garment on.(Saturday & Sunday) nothing new, I stopped taking pain killers. So I could feeling the aching of my body. It's just soreness and no sharp pain and honestly most of it comes from the lipo areas and not from the tummy top incisions.(Monday) working from home. Second post op shower. Without the pain killers You could really feel the soreness ended up taking a Tylenol to help. Also tried to massage out some of the hard lumps from the liposuction located around my ribs and my back, from my previous procedures I know they'll go away eventually but massages help break it down as well as increase blood circulation.
(Tuesday) nothing new. Working from home. Did try to sleep in a regular bed versus recliner. But found the recliner is still more comfortable right now.

Happy with Results but Woke Up Mid- Surgery

28yr Female, 5'2 195lbs no kids. I knew I wanted a tummy tuck one day but didn't have the finances or down time required for it so I went in for a lipo consultation only, thinking I can lipo to "de-bulk" then get the tummy tuck whenever I was able to meet the requirements. With a glance Dr. Andan knew I wouldn't be happy when just lipo. If he was aggressive with lipo I would be left with a lot of sagging skin, If he wasn't aggressive to prevent that I would have to get lipo again when I finally get the tummy tuck to get best results. And have to pay double the after fees for 2 separate procedures. He recommended to focus on weight loss and come back when I was ready. I got a quote for Tummy tuck + 360 lipo for $14,250.
Fast forward 10 months. Money has been saved and I'm working remotely due to Covid. I was ready this time, called to schedule an appointment and was glad that they honored the quote from months ago even though the guarantee was long past. Surgery day was scheduled for the next month I had to get medical clearance as well as a covid test. I opted for local anesthesia instead of general.
Day of surgery appointment time 1pm Thursday. They gave me medication to make me drowsy after about an hour I was marked up and then brought into operating room, had an IV put in. I don't remember much but operation ran longer than expected and I think the numbing started to wear off because the last hour I was starting to feel what was happening to me. *Note I knew beforehand this was a possibility, there are reviews on here where this had happened to other people. (Sort from lowest rated you'll find them) I have a relatively high pain tolerance so I thought I would be fine on the off chance that it happened. Stitching and cutting didn't hurt it was the cauterization that hurt. Physical Pain was 4 out of 10 so not bad but the mental toll was more of a issue. cauterization happened at random intervals for random durations, like Chinese water torture (if you ever watched the MythBusters episode on it you'll understand). I started crying on the table and my body shook. They put in an extra IV and took like 30 min break (mind you tummy open an muscles exposed). They came back and finished up, put me in the provided garment and girdle, and moved me to a recovery room. It was done around 11pm. They checked my vitals and put me on some kinda milk IV since I was nauseous and couldn't take nutrition the normal way. I was finally released an hour later.
