Great experience with Dr. Molina - I'm feeling great and loving my results
Great Experience with Dr. Molina
I am going to write my review based on my experience from the moment I came into contact with Molinas team, until the moment I was dropped off at the airport to head home. Leandra was the receptionist who organized my quote, details with my deposit and booking my surgery date. She helped me with everything pre op (labs, medications, instructions) etc. She was very professional and very helpful with anything that I had asked. There were times I feel the responses should have been sent out quicker, but for the most part the responses were in a timely fashion.
She was a pleasure to work with and made this stage of the process as easy as possible. Gladys is the women you will be directed to after you leave your deposit and have your surgery date set. You will have to contact her on whatsapp from home in which almost all her responses are delayed sometimes by two days. In her defense when I actually got there I realized she is really busy in the office coordinating things for the patients who are there at that time. (not her fault).
She will coordinate your lab work, cardiologist, X-ray and your pre op visit once you arrive to their surgery center. If you need a boppy pillow or a discharge letter for work you can get it from her.
-(SM) Home- This is the place I chose to stay at for the 17 days I was there. Reyna is the person who will help you out with your stay. Communication with her was great she responds almost instantly. Let me start off by saying this is not a recovery house it is a more intimate stay.
You will be staying in someone's place with someone who currently lives in there. I felt like I was home with my family while I was staying there. The place is up to date/modern and very very clean.
Santa who was with us everyday was amazing. She gave us our medication all day long, she helped us with our drains, helped with our clothes, she would really help you with anything if you needed.
If there was anything else we needed that we didn't have she would call the pharmacy and it would be delivered within minutes. She is NOT a nurse she was mom. She called to see how we were doing in surgery and every time we were out she would message the driver to see how her girls were. She would pack us sandwiches to take to our appointments. One night I was having a panic attack because I started getting in my head since I was fresh post op and thought something was happening.
She kept asking me how I was feeling, if I was better, if I needed anything and the next morning she told me she was worried about me that night because I went to sleep like that. Like I said it was like being home with mom. Santa makes the best smoothies she cooks really good too!
Raquel was the one who did all the cleaning and most of the cooking at SM home. Our rooms were always clean even the hard to get corners and windows were clean. We were served breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in-between.
Raquel cooks really good and she's a very hard worker. SM home is a 3 bedroom apartment on the 6th floor. Two bedrooms have queen size beds and one has two twins. You can chose to have your own room or share. All of the bedrooms had their own bathrooms with walk in showers and also hand held shower heads which made it easier to shower after surgery.
You can also ask them for the chair they which you can bring in the shower this made it easier to shower after surgery. I felt beyond safe there and comfortable with leaving my belongings out. I brought my mac book and my tablet for school work that I had to complete. I always left my belongings out. They have good wifi in there also for anyone wondering if they could connect to zoom calls or get any work done from home. The only thing it didn't have which would have been nice for such a long stay was a yard.
They do have a balcony which overlooks the city which had the most amazing breeze. If you need a lot of medical attention like hospital beds and things like that this isn't the place for you. I had a very nice comfortable stay and I recommend this place for anyone looking for a more intimate feel.
- Robinson picked me up from the airport and was my driver for most of my stay. He was made me feel comfortable right away and he was key in making this entire process a better experience.
He helped with my bags, he got me an empanada on the way to the house, he took me to all of my appointments with the exception of two and he also took us out the day before coming home. He took me and the other girls to our appointments and he knew what to do and where to go. He walked us in, helped us with paperwork, helped us with getting any documents that was needed for our surgery.
I hope they realize what a great person he is to have around, he is not just a driver he literally helped us with everything. Just so you guys know my family is from the dominican republic and I speak the language but I still have never been there and wouldn't know what to do without him. He helped us in and out of the car after surgery, he even drove slow so that if there were any bumps in the road it would not hurt us. There were two occasions in which we had to take a taxi/uber and it sucked. The guy did not help us get in or out all, he didn't help us with our belongings and they did not care to hit any pot holes knowing we were post op. We could not wait to get Robinson back, luckily we had him back right away.
The only thing I would suggest is maybe a bigger vehicle like a van for more comfort and space. If four girls are going to get massages at once it would be better suited in a van. With that being said, I hope they realize how much value Robinson brings he truly made everything much better and deserves a raise for his attention to the patients.
The day of surgery- the night before I couldn't sleep because my nerves were hard at work. I was having major anxiety thinking about how I left my kids behind, thinking about how I never said I would have anything done in DR and here I was. You get there get all your lab work and see the anesthesiologist.
My nerves were so shot but she answered all my questions and she calmed me down. She explained to me how the entire process was going to go. Just so you guys know they use Regional anesthesia not General. After seeing her you go to another room where the Dr will mark you up and you can go over any last minute questions you should have. This is the second time you see the surgeon while you're there. The first time you see him is when you go get the labs. The reason why I chose him was because of his safety protocols and the way he practices.
He did not let me down. I want you all to know that I did extensive research on many surgeons and he was my final choice. For anyone questioning traveling to this country stop questioning and just book your date. The care from this surgeon and his nurses are 5 star. He does not care about making an extra dollar he cares about your well being as you should too. We were debating if I should have a tummy tuck or just lips.
I wanted the tuck and he was thinking more towards lipo. when I was about to go into surgery I called him in my room and told him you know what just do what you think I would be happy with. He said I am going to lipo you first if I think it looks good we will do just that, if I feel that you still have some placid skin and you won't be happy I will go forward with the TT. The good thing was that I felt confident in his decision to do the right thing. There's no better feeling than that. The anesthesiologist came back in and gave me an IV, a blue pill called dormice which is a sleep agent and then they inject you with the same agent.
Once they inject you with that its a wrap, next thing you know you will be waking up in your spanx in your room for the night. You stay there the night where the nurses monitor you for the 24 hours. the inject you with a heparin shot after surgery to prevent blood clots and also have your calfs in pressure cuffs which also prevent blood clots. You're in a comfortable hospital bed in a comfortable room with AC, TV and its won bathroom. There is also food there if you're hungry.
Anything you need for that night you call the nurses and they come right in to help. The next day the surgeon comes in to see how you're doing, the nurses give you your meds which you will take to your stay and if you decide you want a pain pump the anesthesiologist will come and put the line in for you. after all that is done you're discharged.
The experience at the surgery center and the surgeon exceeded my expectations. Im loving my results.
The massages - This area I feel could use some help. The location for massages is on the second floor of the surgery center. You can go there as many times as you'd like during your stay. The girls who massage you and help put your spanx on are really good but the place is crowded. We literally waited 5 hours for a massage a few times.
The waiting area for massages had no AC and there were so many girls waiting. You walk to a desk before the massages to sign in but there are two sheets you could sign. One is to see the nurse to remove drains and the other is for the massage. Neither sheet tells you what its for they are just full of names. If you sign the wrong one you will be waiting even longer.
They could at least write at the top "For Nurse' "For Massage" There are only two tables for massages with a long list of girls waiting, do the math. Not to mention just to get in and our of your faja takes 20 minutes. I know while I was there, they were working on a plan to make things run smoother. For one there should be AC in that waiting area. All the girls are post op which you feel extra hot as it is, your in pain and you're waiting.
There is AC everywhere except there on the second floor where you wait for massages. They could also use a bigger room maybe add a third table for the days that it does get that busy they could use a third girl. There were days that we went were seen right away and were out with no wait but also days that had an unbearable wait. Even if you made an appt you were waiting.
The girls who just had surgery should have priority over the ones who are mostly recovered on their tenth massage. It's an idea that may help.
Overall I had an amazing experience and I want to let anyone know who is considering to stop looking and book your date! I just got home two days ago and I'm feeling great and loving my results. I will be posting pictures soon.
(TT, breast implants and a fat transfer to the hips)
Thank you. EF.
