It's finally time! I'm finally doing this

4.5 Weeks PO

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve last updated. I went back to work after 2 weeks. I’m a nurse and have a stressful job that often requires me to be on my feet quite a bit. My first week back to work I worked over 60hrs which I’m sure set my recovery back. Fast forward to now, almost 5 weeks PO. As of today, I do still feel quite a bit of discomfort and tightness in my abdomen. It takes a minute for me to straighten up after sitting or laying for awhile. My lower back and hips that had lipo are still numb and very sore. Overall my entire mid section is still very swollen. My scar looks ok. My doctor suggested using scar sheets immediately after my 2 week appointment. Unfortunately, I was left with a decent amount of stretch marks in my lower abdomen, a few reaching my navel. So far, I’m pleased. I do wish my recovery would move faster but I knew this was a process prior to starting this journey.

Hi! I had a mommy makeover from Dr. Dottger too, June 18..,last week. How long before you started standing straight and your stomach feeling normal again?

Finally!!!

I’m finally starting to feel like a normal person again. I’m about 80% upright. Pain is definitely still there but seems to be at it’s worse when I’m changing positions. I’ve slept in my bed the last 3 nights. It’s still not very comfortable and I wake up stiff and it’s difficult to get up... but it’s progress from the recliner. Still have a lot of bruising but it’s definitely healing. I’m beginning to see a really nice shape of my right side, left side is not as progressed. Tons of swelling. My hips are still huge and sore. I have another appointment this coming Wednesday with my surgeon. He wants me to take the steri strips off the night prior. The scar is healing well from what I can see. I love it’s placement. Recovery is definitely a process and I do believe patience is most important. I think about all the RS ladies who are going through this with me and wish everyone well:)

You're looking great! The bruises have gotten so much better. Did you have any muscle repair? We are the same build and our surgery were around the same time. But looks like your swelling has gotten down a lot more than mine. I can already see the definition of your muscle in the front! So happy for you

My was around 2 and a half months and I’m still swollen. Sometimes I don’t know if it is cuz I’m swollen or because I ate too much

Oh gosh! I fear the same thing! Especially now we can't exercise!

Not exercising and trying to keep your tummy slim is a challenge. Try to eat salads and protein.

Wow you look amazing! From the pics looks like your swelling has really gone down!

I had my TT and lipo of the flanks 4 weeks ago today. It helped me tremendously to use a walker for the first week. I found one in my mom's garage and that saved my back and my life (I think). I just naturally stopped using it after about 8 - 9 days.

I had mine 2/1
Get arnica tablets - from Amazon.helps tremendously with bruising and swelling
I also believe taking 3 prenatal and probiotic gummies , eldberry helped .
I would also start taking 6 stool softeners a day, this was the most important tips from friends , shit is no joke .

I am one year out from TT, you look great already. I must admit recovery was awful, yet very well worth it. Hang in there, rest as much as you can. Good luck
