Excited to Stop Feeling Floppy

WORTH IT
One week left until surgery!

I chose Dr. Hustak of the five doctors I spoke with. She was midline priced- I had one who quoted me DOUBLE what she and two others quoted me, and one who was going to charge 6k less (my mind just screamed “run”). Dr. Hustak has a charming manner about her, the surgery center was professional and still warm (if you’re going to work in aesthetics, please don’t consult with me in a cold, dirty, or hospital setting), the coordinator Amy was kind and lovely, but mainly, when researching, I found tons of videos that Dr. Hustak made to educate people. That came across in our consult as she seemed exceedingly more knowledgeable than some of the other doctors and she found it important enough to make sure that I was on the same level and understood what she was saying. Also, I know that (most) men can appreciate a woman’s body , but I feel like a woman will really understand how I want my body.

Things I am anxious about:
- the recovery; I’m scheduled to go back to work (on my feet all day) after two weeks. Am I actually insane?
- I thought about a BBL and ultimately decided against as I read about the recovery and balked. I have an aspirin-ass (flat, white, with a line down the middle) and it’s certainly not perky, but I do want to attempt to stay somewhat true to my pre-baby form. I’m pretty nervous that I’ll have zero curves without adding anything. Will I regret not doing it?
- also with the recovery; I have three kids, the youngest is 3. Will they be able to understand why I can’t play like I would usually?

Excited about:
-not feeling like I’m carrying around a half full bag of liquid on my belly. (I’ve actually begun actively disliking the word “belly”)
- honestly? The mini-coma that is surgery/recovery. I have often times actually fantasized about being in a low-key coma just for the quiet and rest and relaxation. Again, I have three children. You’re telling me I have to relax and nap a lot? Don’t threaten me with a good time!

My surgery was initially booked for a month from now, but I called Amy to reschedule it sooner, yesterday is not soon enough.

Night of.
So the surgery went well- they ended up taking SEVEN LITERS! Which has me some kind of excited. Dr. Hustak has lovey bedside manner- she just know what she doing, and my nurse Maddy is definitely the kind of person you want taking care of you.
Now for recovery:
I got “home” to my mom’s house around 1:30, took a pain pill, and slept in bed on the wedge.
I’ve woken up probably five times to pee, which definitely takes help to do. At this point, I am seriously regretting not renting a lift chair- I am looking into how quickly i can get one and suggest you do so if you are going to have this operation.
At one point, I threw up- which was some of the worst pain I’ve experienced. I don’t know if it was from the lipo fluid, since we did tumescnet lipo, or the drugs, or just from pain itself. We also realized that I had gotten behind in the pain pills, which I can promise will not happen again.
Now that I’m current on the pain pills, life is good again and I even was able to sit up to prep to go the the bathroom (again!).
I regret not getting pics of me marked up. She did say that she was going to aggressively get my flanks, since I hold weight there.
I do have one tube and the fluid output is real, I don’t know how else to put it.
I managed to get a pic of me propped on the wedge pillow (the wedge is absolutely minimum as I don’t know how I would do this with just a plethora of pillows.)
Nurse coming tomorrow to do the things (I don’t actually know what), so I’ll have to shower before she gets here. That should be interesting.
I can say that after three c-sections and a breast reduction, I assumed this recovery would be something I’m familiar with. I can say with certainty that it is not. And you also NEED someone to be around to help for at least the first 24 hours, possibly more.
Will update again when I can

Thank you for posting, especially so soon after surgery. You are one brave woman. I’m sure it’s already been said but take something for constipation, those pain pills are renowned for that.
Do take care and happy healing x

Thank you! I started Colace (a stool softener) a few days before surgery. When I had my most recent c-section a nurse gave me a mixture of warmed apple juice and prune juice and that worked extremely well and didn’t taste bad. I may have mom go get those tomorrow.
Thank you again for your comment.

Shower time- duh nuh nah nuh, nah nuh, don’t touch this

Hey hey hey,
So I was very much not looking forward to a shower, but once I got in, I didn’t want to leave. I still don’t know how to properly was my butt.
We stayed on top of the meds today, so I’ve had minimal pain that happens when Mom makes me get up and walk around and occasionally irritation just from sitting this bed most of the day in the same position.
The nurse came (part of the package with Dr. Hustak) Ann showed us how to put on the garment and pad underneath, went over the med sched and gave us some special ointment I had never heard of because there is one weird red area.
The communication is excellent- at one point last night, mom called the answering g service and Dr. Hustak herself called back within five minutes.
I’m uploading some pictures from day one (day after surgery) right after my shower. They are gruesome, so don’t look if you get squeamish.
