My journey so far:
I started my weightloss journey in November 2017. It took me exactly one year to lose 100 lbs naturally, and I took another year of maintaining that weight before moving forward with my tummy tuck. I had a couple of other consultations before meeting Dr. Ferguson. At one point I was maybe even going to travel out of state for this procedure. However, once I found, researched, and contacted Dr. Ferguson in my hometown (San Antonio, TX), I knew this was going to be the right fit. After meeting with him, I felt comfortable and confident with my decision to move forward. I was about 25 lbs away from my goal weight, but having the excess skin and stubborn fat area from being obese my entire life, it made it quite difficult to continue losing more weight. My idea was to move forward with this surgery and push it even further after my recovery, which is what I'm doing right now!
My experience:
I was so nervous for the procedure because it is a lot of physical and mental preparation. I had my operation on June 3rd instead of my original June 1st surgery date. It was a sudden reschedule because of my white blood cell count, but I was impressed with the doctors decisions to ensure my safety. The office took great care of me and expedited the process as soon as we found out that there was a potential problem. I originally thought I was going to have to wait another month or so before I could get the surgery done, but they were able to reschedule just a couple of days from my original date. I was grateful for all they did. Post op, pain was not really an issue. I actually anticipated it being a lot worse than it was. I'm thoroughly impressed with my doctors work and especially his stitching and belly button results. I believe it's so important to find a doctor that you're comfortable with and one that has a lot of experience and excellent reviews. My doctor was all of the above and I COMPLETELY recommend! 110%. I'm so happy with the results. It's been an amazing experience.
