Almost 10 mths Post-Op
Hello! I know it's been a few months again since I've posted an update. Holiday season always flies by for me. Well, here I am almost 10mths Post-Op & I'm doing great! Other than the scar, I don't think about the fact that I had the surgery anymore. No limitations physically or anything, back to living life like normal. It's funny how quickly we forget that there was a time when our bodies weren't like this, lol. I've been maintaining my weight, which is good, & I stay well hydrated which I find really is a major key in keeping my body running well. I've done a number of different types of workouts with no issue, but abdominal focused exercises do still "feel" weird but no more soreness than before the surgery. I'm extremely happy I did this and it has definitely made me much more comfortable in my skin, which in turn has boosted my self-confidence. My husband loves it of course. I have a follow-up in early Jan to discuss and set-up my scar revision and Dr. Q is including this with my original surgery package, so no extra cost, which says a lot about her desire to ensure her patients are completely satisfied with their surgery results. I really think I picked a winner when it came to choosing her as my plastic surgeon!
6 Month Update
Alright, so it's been just shy of 6mths since my surgery. I'm doing great recovery wise. I often forget that I even had major surgery, which leads to me overdoing it "abs"-wise occasionally. I will say that maintaining a new lower weight is tough for me, even with good dietary control, so I've got about 5lbs my Doctor wants me to lose. My body was just used to a certain amount of moderate to heavy core exercise & my doctor doesn't want me to return to that level yet. I also noticed that a noticeable amount of fat seems to have migrated to my inner thighs, which was not typically a problem area for me pre-surgery. I understand why though & have adjusted my workouts to be more leg oriented. Also, I seem to swell in my lower belly when I ovulate or mentruate, anyone else experience that? I just make sure to drink plenty of water, wear non restrictive clothes, & keep my potassium levels up during that time. That seems to help it ease up some. Those aren't major issues to me though because they can be helped with good diet & exercise.
I do however have a few areas of small issue that my doctor has already said she would correct at my 1yr follow-up. My scar is a little uneven & she may have to take a little extra off near the "dog-ear" area. Again though, considering where I started, this is all a small price to pay for the amount of comfort, confidence, & happiness this surgery has brought me. Here's a handful of recent pics I took.

2 month update
I know I fell off the face of the earth for the last month, but man time flies when you're a working mom of 3 girls. Figured I'd give an update since I'm right about 2 mths post-op. I had my 2 month follow-up & voiced a few concerns to Dr. Q. There is still some water retention on the left side of my belly & she gave me a lipo foam board to place under my spanx top, especially at night, to help reduce that quicker. I have a small section of my scar that is a little higher than the rest of it & she was very understanding on that & said at my one year we could revise that with no issue. She wants to make sure the scar is completely healed and set before we make any changes to it. I completely agree with her. I remember that my BA scars took their sweet time in completely healing & settling on their final color/texture/etc & I'd rather just have any issues addressed during one revision. Other than that, I'm doing great! My hubby is super stoked now that I'm more my physically functional self again & the boost in my body comfort level has definitely made us both happier. I'm still a size 5/6 in pants for the most part & I've noticed that the Lipo to the flanks & hips has made my little butt look perkier & more pronounced, so woohoo for that! Also, with my tummy flap gone & my waist nipped in, my chest looks huge, lol (I had BA in 2014, 535cc saline under the muscle, which puts me at a 34DD/DDD). I've posted some updated pics that I've taken over the last couple weeks. Hope everyone is coming along well on their surgical journeys & happy healing!
