My Consult is 28th March

Hi RS people, I am 53 years old and hate my abdomen area, I look 9 months pregnant.
As my frame is small this is huge for me. I am booked to see Dr Briggs this week for tummy tuck with liposuction to waist to get a more contoured look after many many years. I have had 3 children, 2 of which were c sections so I have that horrible pooch and major diastisis recti which let's my abdomen protrude so much.
I will post pics when I have had my consult with Dr Briggs and know exactly what road we will be progressing toward.
I follow heaps of posts for those that are currently, and have been on this journey to feeling much better and so much more confident in themselves.
Having this surgery is totally for me, I have been single for 7 years and can't think or imagine meeting anyone due to my dissatisfaction of myself,.
Hope all those that have gone through this can give me some tips on recovery.

Thanks Linsey I most certainly will. After my consult this week I should know what is happening and be able to take some pics and share my journey with others out there.

Please also note that some of the ratings I am not able to rate at this stage due to not having met Doctor Briggs, he has come highly recommended so watch this space for updates.

Hey, well I had my consult today, it went very well. I found out that my muscle separation isn't that bad. Dr Briggs and his staff are really amazing they answered all questions and made me feel at ease. Had photos taken and then sat with Dr Briggs and went through them while he explained exactly what will happen and the improvements that will be made. Now I am just waiting on the information to be emailed to me and I will be booking my date for surgery. Good luck and keep me posted on how your consult goes?

Hi, thanks for that, good luck too. I hope Dr Briggs can help me, take care and all the best for your surgery. Di

You too Di, let me know how you go at your consult.

Hi
Consult went ok, but like you another opinion is always good. Have you seen Dr Vij yet? Might also see if I can go see him. Have a great Monday !
April 9, 2019
Hi, yes I went and seen Dr Vij and he is really amazing. Lovely man who made me feel comfortable and gave me more insight to get the best results. He assessed me and advised that i have some visceral fat that he prefers me to lose before surgery in order for me to get the best results. He was so honest by advising if he does it now I won't be happy with the results. So now I am focusing on losing the visceral fat, then I will be booking back in to see him again. I made my choice, he is the surgeon I will be using.

Hi, thanks for your reply, sounds like the perfect fit. I will definitely book an appointment with him, I too will get the same advice from him. So am trying really hard to loose some of my little "Tyre" :(, nasty old thing has been around too long! Just have to work out the best low carb plan to follow, I was really hoping for surgery June/July. Would love to follow your journey, good luck and we will get there :) Have a lovely day - Di

Hi Deb, funny that July is my target date too. With work it's the best time to do this, just got to keep on loosing weight. You have encouraged me to book that appt with Dr Vij, thanks for your sharing. Happy hump day! - Di

I didn’t go to that doctor but I am 40 and felt the same way about my stomach. I had a full tummy tuck on March 11 I am two and half weeks out and not only feel amazing look amazing!!! 100% worth it 100% !!! Recovery wasn’t bad at all . I was scared to death about the pain and the drain tubes and wasn’t at all bad !!! Good luck !!!! Best decision I ever made

Thanks and have a great Monday

Hey Di, have you had your surgery yet? I have been lazy so no change in my weight loss as yet. I have started jogging and surprisingly enough i am loving it. Hope to see a decrease in inches soon then i can book another appointment with Dr Vij

Thank for your comment, it is good to chat with someone who has just gone through it and can honestly say the recovery and drains are not that bad. I honestly can't wait to have it done, canr wait to see myself in fitted clothes instead of buying loose baggy tops to hide it. Please keep me updated on your recovery. Good luck, Deb
UPDATED FROM LunaDix

Second Consult

LunaDix
Hi RS people, while at my consult with Doctor Briggs, I was advised to also seek other consultations with surgeons. I appreciate the advise as to me it shows Doctor Briggs is confident in his work.
I have decided to take their recommendation and sent a contact email to another surgeon who is also more than qualified to perform the surgery.
Will keep you all posted when I hear back from my contact email as to when my consult will take place,
Apologies but the name of the surgeon I want to consult with is Doctor Vij.
