Chop Shop
I went to Miami Life 10/7 for a tummy tuck and breast lift. I was quoted 8900 for my surgery. A week before I was called by nassif and told the new price is 11k i could pay that for I'm or go to another surgeon. I had researched him and trusted he would be a good surgeon so I agree. Then a few days later they call and say pre op and surgery will be on the same day meaning I was super rushed.
I arrive and do the paperwork and go to pay. They then add 15% fee to use care credit no one told me before this or I would have been prepared to pay another way again I paid because it was literally the day of surgery so I say whatever then I tell them it wasn't 8900 anymore it was changed to 11k they say no this is your contract so I'm like whatever. I pay go upstairs and they take me back at 10:30am to put me to sleep.
I wake p at 9:30pm being thrown in a wheel chair they didn't put my clothes on me just open robe. I was incoherent they said husbands here time to go they wheel me out throw me in the front seat and hand my husband a bag and leave. It took my husband over an hour to help me walk to the house because I was still incoherent and could not function he had to pull our car up onto the lawn of the Airbnb and basically carry me into the house.
Fast forward to the next day my husband tells me that they called him around 11 AM telling him he had to come to Miami life and pay an additional $3800. They had already put me to sleep, but I did not pay the full amount of my contract and would not operate on me until he paid . He of course, drove to pay the difference very confused as we had already paid and they had told him that I was already under general anesthesia, and the doctor would not operate until the contract was paid in full. mind you I had told them before going upstairs that they were charging the wrong amount and they argued with me and told me that that was the contracted amount.see pictures of each charge below
I will say that on postop Nasif was very caring and did ensure that I was doing well and followed up with myself and my husband. when I saw my tummy tuck for the first time I was extremely disappointed as there was a lot of skin left, and even though they said it was swelling, I could tell that there was no way my stomach was going to be flat once healed. The picture is posted are two days postop and six months postop. I had already paid to have a second round BBL done with Nasif six months after this tummy tuck however, once I saw the results were not what I was anticipating I started to ask for a revision or a second tummy tuck. I was told by Nasif that my skin quality would never allow for me to have a flat stomach and that I should be grateful with the progress that he gave me. I then asked to be sent to other doctors through Miami life to have an evaluation if I was a candidate for a second tummy tuck and I kept getting sent back over to nassif for a BBL. I finally demanded to speak to a manager. She told me she was going to have Kaufman look at my case and would contact me. It has been over two months. No one has contacted me about a tummy tuck with Miami life. Kaufman never evaluated my case the manager never got back to me.
in the process of trying to talk to Miami life about my issues I started to get evaluations by other surgeons. I ended up having a second tummy tuck and muscle repair by another surgeon on April 16. He told me my muscle repair was done incorrectly and he removed another 3 pounds of skin from my stomach. My stomach is now extremely flat what I had expected to get from the first surgery that I had.
I've reached out to Miami life again and still not heard anything back at this point. I was asking for a refund on my second deposit as they are not responsive in evaluating my case and I have already had surgery with another clinic. In addition I am seeking compensation for the shotty work done on the first round and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau
Ladies, be careful going to Miami life when you wake up they literally throw you out the door when you're not even able to stand. In addition, they do not respond to any complaints and the manager does not get back to you. You will be shuffled around and given the runaround with no resolution or even acknowledgment to your issues. People will say all Miami clinics are this way that's not true. My second experience at another clinic was amazing like night and day
