I’ve been considering a tummy tuck and breast reduction for 5-6 years. I’m 5’5” and 49 years old with one child by cesarean section. Ive always been somewhat athletic and consistently weighed between 125-135 up until ~44 years old. Then BOOM! What happened!!?? An annual doctor visit weighed in at 153! I cried for days, assessed my lifestyle to determine what changed, kept playing tennis, working full-time tracking my steps, normal (but basic) stuff. Had lab work done...all normal. Moved to size 8 clothes and took inventory of how lucky and grateful my life is and keep moving when I can (stand instead of sit, etc). Wardrobe refresh for fall with a department store shopper updated measurements. What?!?!? I wear a 36 DD??? I’ve always been a 34 B until ~44 years old 36 C now I’m what!? Fast forward to 48 years old. Nothing fits well. I wear Size Large tops, size 10 bottoms. I don’t recognize myself when I get a glance in a mirror or window reflection. I research and determine - stress, hormones, and my nightly 2 glasses of wine are he culprit. My diagnosis. At this point it’s January 2019, I will be 50 in May and I’m not going to let this be okay it’s me!!! Took a one year sabbatical from the stress of my job, reduced my wine intake (but not by enough), did several mommy makeover consultations for a breast reduction and tummy tuck. After tons of research I chose Dr Shahram Salemy. We had open discussion about options, his staff is incredible (every single one of them) and in the end agreed on a mommy makeover with a slight breast reduction (more to get my breasts the same size and symmentrical, a tummy tuck to remove the fold and a tiny bit of lipo on my flanks to bring back my waistline or curve in my mid-section. I could have gone further, but I fully trusted his guidance and I still eat to be ME. My procedure was on April 22, 2019

Congrats! I'm a little older than you (52) and I'm in the same boat, my weight has shot up and I can't get back to my normal 130. I'm at 160 now and it is just SO depressing. Please post photos. I'm curious to see before and after photos. I'm currently 52 years old, 5'4" tall and weigh 160...I need a nudge.

Definitely will. I’m disappointed that I did not take any before photos of my own but we did in the office. Will share in the next day or two. When I couldn’t get the scale to move, that was definitely my nudge. I havent got on he scale yet because Id prefer swelling go down a bit further, but my clothes already fit better, I can wear t-shirts without being self-conscious of my mid-section, etc. Stay tuned.

Still wearing compression, all tubes removed, and today is my last day for needing incision tape. Overall, movement normal, incisions look great, feel completely normal (except better!!) other than I get fatigued faster. Still no exercise allowed. I was feeling good a week ago. The recovery has surpassed my expectations! I was standing straight by day 3. Now seeking advice or recommendations for scar cream. Welcome your comments.
