Great Experience
I had a pretty great experience with only a couple minor hiccups (within the office, not the procedure itself)
For the original consultation I waited over an hour. Dr. Ehret was late? or busy? I was not informed. The staff apologized. When meeting Dr. Ehret for the first time, he was nice, informative-everything you would expect. Was honest and gave me realistic expectations.
Scheduling the actual surgery and communication via email/phone was a breeze (except the other minor hiccup) I had a Pre-op Hyperbaric chamber appointment scheduled and was communicating with their surgery coordinator, Sannarey Sean. Somehow this appointment did NOT get put into their system, which was a disappointment and a waste of my time (travel time, having to fit an appointment into my schedule being post-op...etc.) Staff apologized.
The Pre-op appointment where you meet Dr. Ehret again, and go over meds and post-op care was informative. The hyperbaric chamber appointments were a new experience for me. Shout out to the staff member who assisted me. She was very nice and patient, friendly and encouraging.
The process of getting my drains out was quick and painless. Scheduling to get them out was sub par at one point. There was a new staff member who wasn't very informational or overly professional.
Overall, the nurses/staff in the office was pleasant enough, some having better bedside matter than others, but nobody was rude.
The surgery & results- Couldn't be happier. The anesthesiologist was easy going and prior to the procedure gave me drugs that would "make me feel like I had a cocktail or two". The young soft spoken nurse was sweet, kind, and kept checking in on me. The female assistant to Dr. Ehret had this extremely positive vibe about her. Even though our interaction was brief, she was very memorable.
My pain was always controlled. Dr. Ehret called me hours later day of my procedure to check in on me.(perhaps coinciding with the John Mayer concert he was attending). My scar is appropriately placed, its very thin, and my new belly button is amazing!
