Week 3 Post-op wow!!
This is a long recovery- I underestimated how tough it was for sure. I wake up stiff and hunching and compression is a pain. But drains finally out!! Trying to learn to dress again without a mommy stomach.. belly button is a little pink but I was reassured it’s healing. This whole journey has helped me regain so much of myself. I sleep through the night for the first time in 5 years after two babies in a row, spend actual time on myself and have improved my diet and health.
Dr. Z and his staff are absolutely great. Front desk is so kind and polite. I really am so grateful I chose this office and group for surgery. Nurse Jessica is so knowledgeable and helped me so much I feel so much better than last week. Pics of dressing in actual clothes without hiding ????????

Pants.. and progress
I put on pants today and don’t even know how to express the joy of looking so flat. Still have drains in the drain holder I bought (best thing ever btw) so it’s not over yet but today at 10dpo I feel like a new person!
I called to ask about the drains when waking this morning after one drain tube came off somehow for bout 30seconds until I reconnected it so I was concerned about sterility. The surgeon’s in office nurse Tally who is super knowledgeable explained that it happens however the drain system is one-way suction and it flows one way so it will be fine. Then I asked about drain removal and I learned you must have less than 20cc drainage in 24hours per their postop care for drain removal.
That’s fine by me but likely another week w/drains. That prevents me from buying soothed cause it’s just a pain dressing with them. The alternative is maybe accumulating fluid and that’s no fun as I’m swollen just from walking outside in the heat.
My correctly sized faja has finally arrived and I’m going to try it on and compress the heck outta my upper abdomin where it’s swollen!
Later on I am going to post some pics of the items I couldn’t have made it through the last 10 days without.
