I Had an Amazing Experience
WORTH IT
I honestly cannot recommend Dr Murat Diyarbakirlioglu and his team enough. I had an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair, a breast lift and implants, and my results are honestly better than I ever thought they could be.
From the very beginning, Dr Murat understood exactly what I wanted to achieve. I’m 5ft and weighed 8st 8lbs, and I wasn’t sure what size implants I wanted. I simply told him that I wanted breasts that suited my frame and left the decision to him. He chose 300cc implants, and they are absolutely perfect for me. I explained my concerns to him, and he addressed them better than I could have imagined.
Getting to Istanbul
My journey to Istanbul started very stressfully. My flight was cancelled, and my surgery was due to be the very next day. I had to travel to a different airport in the UK because that was the only airport with a flight to Istanbul that day. I then landed at a different airport in Istanbul and much later than originally planned.
My coordinator, Bursa, was absolutely fantastic throughout all of this. She arranged my airport transport and, because I arrived so late, organised for me to go straight to the hospital rather than the hotel. By the time I arrived at the hospital, I was exhausted, extremely stressed and hadn’t eaten all day because and was due to be nil by mouth from midnight.
One thing that really stood out to me was how much they prioritised my wellbeing. They made sure I had something to eat before anything else, which was exactly what I needed at that point.
My medical checks
I had a pulmonary embolism (PE) 15 years ago, so naturally this was a concern for me before surgery. The medical team took this very seriously and carried out all the necessary checks.
I also had some wheezing when breathing, so they did additional tests, including an X-ray. Honestly, throughout the whole process, I felt that my health and safety were their priority. They didn’t just rush me through because I had travelled all that way for surgery.
Meeting Dr Murat
When I met Dr Murat, I immediately felt reassured. His English is fantastic, so you really don’t need to worry about him not understanding you.
He carefully marked me up and we discussed everything. I didn’t know what size implants I wanted, and I trusted his judgement completely. I told him my concerns and what I hoped to achieve, and he understood exactly what I wanted.
Looking back, I’m so glad I trusted him because the results are better than I imagined.
After surgery
The recovery immediately after surgery was hard, as expected, but the staff were amazing and I felt well looked after.
Around four hours after surgery, they brought me food, and they helped me out of bed for my first walk. Dr Murat’s staff all speak English, which made communication easy. The hospital staff speak less English, but Google Translate worked perfectly when needed, and I had no problems communicating with them.
The hospital staff were kind, helpful and attentive. Dr Murat checked on me every day while I was in hospital. I stayed for three nights in total, with two nights being post-op.
The hotel and aftercare
The hotel had everything I needed, including a washer/dryer, and it was clean and conveniently located near a shopping mall.
Sena, the hotel nurse, was absolutely fantastic. She came every day and helped me with everything. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. She checked my wounds, sent pictures to Dr Murat and then followed whatever advice or treatment was needed.
I also paid for additional LDM treatments, which Sena provided. If you need extra fajas, you can also ask Sena and she will arrange for them to be ordered and delivered to your hotel.
Honestly, you really don’t need to worry about anything. Your coordinator arranges your appointments and keeps you updated with messages. Your driver collects you and takes you where you need to go. Everything is organised for you, which makes such a difference when you are recovering from major surgery.
Because my flights had been cancelled, I needed to stay an extra night. My coordinator had already arranged everything for me. I didn’t even realise there was anything to worry about until I was supposed to check out, and she sorted everything within seconds. No stress and no problem at all.
After returning home
Once you are home, you have an aftercare coordinator who checks in on you and makes sure everything is going well. If you have any concerns, they ask you to send pictures so they can see what is happening and advise you properly.
I’ve only needed to contact them once since coming home for some advice, and I received a response quickly.
My overall experience
From the moment I arrived to the time I came home, I felt supported and looked after.
Having major surgery abroad can obviously feel daunting, especially when you have previous medical concerns, but I genuinely felt that my health, safety and wellbeing were taken seriously throughout the whole process.
Dr Murat is amazing. He listened to me, understood what I wanted and used his expertise to give me results that are even better than I imagined.
I would 100% recommend Dr Murat Diyarbakirlioglu and his team. I am absolutely delighted with my results and so happy that I trusted him.
