3 month post op

WORTH IT
Well almost 3 months.
No healing issues except at around 4 weeks I had an itchy rash alongside the entire incision (not on it, but along the top and bottom)
PS gave me some oral prednisone which didnt really help. What helped was using a topical steroid. The rash cleared up by 6weeks but it left me with a dark hyper pigmented scar.
It's slowly fading and my PS wants to wait another 6 weeks before and treatment (if needed)
Do I care? Not really. It feels so good to have clothes fit correctly and not to have to buy clothes which are styled to hide the bulge.
I still dont have supermodel abs but thats ok. I didn't expect to.
Definitely more confidence, my SO thinks I look great, life is good.
I definitely don't feel 100% normal yet (tummy tight when I stretch, abs still feeling odd due to the muscle repair) even though I've been released as healed. I still sleep mostly on my back with legs propped up. Lol I'm a baby. Still weird on my side.
Worth it? DEFINITELY

So happy for you! You like like you are healing so well. I am 8 weeks PO today and have part of my incision that is not healing so that' kind of a bummer. What have you used to help the scar and itchy besides the steroid?
I switched my lotion to aveeno. Thats about it.
I was also hyper vigilant about postioning myself during sleep to reduce tension on it when it was healing...especially since it was so irritated. I think I developed a sensitivity to the glue that was used.
You'll look back on this later and it will be worth it. Hang in there!
What were your stats prior to SX? You look fabulous.
Wow thanks!
I'm not drastically smaller. I was a size 8/10/12 size Medium/Large 138 lbs 5ft5in
I'm now more of a size 8 solid Medium now. I did lose some weight post op because it was hard to eat food because I was so tight i felt stuffed after a few bites.
I went down to 128lbs but im back up to 132lbs now that I'm able to eat more
Just glad things fit better on me now. I didnt opt to do new boobs, but with my slimmer midsection, my tired boobies seem slight bigger lol. Added bonus!
And on a side note, i just discovered I'm on my doctor's website. :D
Nice!! Who was your doctor?

1 month appt - tape off

One month appointment today after 1 week of work.
I believe my PS used dermabond on me. The tape and glue was supposed to kinda flake off by 3 weeks but mine was holding on. I knew he would remove the tape today and had been in a panic all day (will it hurt, what does the scar look like, etc)
He literally took one end and pulled yo the other side lol. Still kinda numb so all it felt was weird. Whew.
Scar looks pretty good I think. Some glue still stuck on me so it doesn't look too pretty yet. Was instructed to rub to soften the scar, and to rub my belly button to get rid of the crud inside (I think)
Also graduated to spanx so yay! No more wearing pull up tights for work because of the bulky binder. Normal clothes!
Feeling much better week 4.
Next appt in 1 month

3 weeks post op back to work

Going back to wasn't as bad as I thought was it qas definitely tiring. I have a desk job but a 12 hour shift so it was a long day. Halfway through I was definitely starting to get tired. It didn't help that I couldn't position myself comfortably in my chair without having to sit up or get up every few minutes to get the phone.
I've been back a week now. Still get tired and abs sore but I just tighten up my binder and it feels better.
Have to really watch my food for sodium, and eating clean doesn't come naturally to me. Guess it's worth it in the long run!
