Finally Starting the Journey with Dr. Alkon

Survived the Surgery

$9,950
Surgery day was such a blur. Nothing felt real to me. Reality didn’t set in until after surgery when the meds wore off and the pain hit (after 4 c-sections I have to say this was the WORSE).
Normally this is a same day surgery, so you go home after the procedure. However, due to the size of my hernia and how complicated it was I got admitted overnight by the hernia doctor. To paint the picture, the hernia portion would normally take 20-30 min. to repair. Mine was over an hr and half to repair (not including time for Lipo or tummy tuck). So Dr. Alkon made the right call by not allowing me to combine the BBL with my tummy tuck.
The first night I did have a reoccurring fever of 101. And the morphine was not my friend to say the least. But the hospital staff was absolutely wonderful and I was discharged after one evening.
I can’t say anything for results right now since I am in an abdominal binder for up to 10 days. But I am so anxious to see how it came out. Luckily, bits of my surgery was recorded in Dr. Alkon’s IG page so I recorded it to my phone. It was amazing how huge my hernia was; and I did attach a pic of how I looked at the end of the surgery.

Cleared and Ready!!

So I had my in person appointment with Dr. Alkon on July 31st. First off he’s super friendly and straight forward which I appreciate. I saw some reviews that paint him as maybe too blunt? However, if someone is cutting me open I’d prefer you be VERY blunt rather than sugar coat the truth or tell me what I wanna hear!
The office was neat, clean, and the Covid-19 protocols were on point.
My BMI and weight were my main concerns and I just made the cut! (I worked super hard to lose 45 lb. in 6 months).
I didn’t want to get too excited until my blood work came back. I waited anxiously for a week until I finally called the offices of both Dr. Alkon and Dr. Colaco (hernia surgeon) for answers. I feel like I borderline harassed over this, but with the way my diet had been I was concerned about my iron and also I heard that hemo levels are a thing to be concerned with too! One lady answered my call for the 3rd time and was finally like “honey, they ONLY call you about blood work when something is wrong.” Lol so I left it at that and let myself get excited... FINALLY!
I’ve finally gone shopping for some post surgery needs (and of course clothes) and have gone into “pregnant nesting mode”. Kind of like when you’re gonna have a baby and you prep and organize everything in your house... had to simplify everything for the husband who will be in charge of the house and 4 children on his own!
I’ve attached the before pics that were taken in office and I’ll include pre weight loss pics as well.
Less than 2 weeks away and sooo excited!

It’s Official!!!

So I met with the general surgeon that Dr. Alkon works with for the hernia repair (Dr. Colaco). I wasn’t permitted to put my deposit and schedule until I got cleared with the hernia issue 1st, which sucked because I was dead set on August 20th and his calendar was filling up fast. I’m all cleared now and made my deposit today! I am on schedule for my date! I’m super excited! Just going to focus on getting more weight off and taking my vitamins!

Is Aug the soonest op date you could get?
No. There were earlier dates available for August. I was just personally stuck on that date
Thanks so much for the reply. I have a consult coming up and am hoping for soonest surgery date so I can at least sit when my school semester starts lol
Lol. That was my goal too so I originally wanted July but last I checked it was fully booked. Thankfully, all my courses are online this semester and I don't start clinical (nursing program) until the spring semester in January, so I can heal in peace! Good luck on our consult!
Thank you and good luck on your surgery and semester!
Thank you!
Yesss! My date is for July 28 with Alkon! I'm excited, nervous just all over the place.
Awesome!! You're right round the corner. What are u getting done? Wishing you a healthy procedure and recovery!! Please share your results if you don't mind!
Tummy tuck, bbl, & lipo. Thank you so much! And I will share!
