WORTH IT
I have tried to have this procedure for 5 years. The first two times the doctor told me I was not yet ready, which I greatly appreciate and admire. Third time's the charm - over the last year I have been seeing a nutritionist and lost a little bit more weight and 5% off my body fat. My weight before the nutritionist was 125 but I am now at 119 (with very little effort, and eating more!),I have been fit for many years, but this area is one that has not responded to exercise. I do not have children, in my early 50's. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I will upload a picture before the procedure. I look forward to your advice and I will keep you all posted as your comments have helped me a lot.

Finally! Surgery 6/9

This has been an emotional roller coaster my procedure was cx’d in March due to COVID but unless anything happens between now and Tuesday, I should have it Tue afternoon! I had to take the COVID test yesterday which was quite the experience (it didn’t really hurt and it was real fast). So now I’m getting ready, meal prepping, taking dogs to boarding for a few days and just waiting for Tue. I will report back after the procedure as everyone’s reports have really help me get an idea on what the recovery entails.

Surgery done!

I had the surgery today in the afternoon and thankfully all went well. I have felt A LOT better than I anticipated. Only issue is a lot of nausea so been taking the nausea pills. I did my first drain session and it was pretty easy. I watched YouTube posts on how to do it and it was very helpful. Very easy. Haven’t been hungry - prob because of nausea. I had a little bit of jello and some chicken broth. Pain has been Tolerable. Been able to stand up with minimal issues (helped to have a strong core pre surgery!) and can stand upright (~95%!) which is great and have been walking around the house a little bit. I will take night pills soon and go from there. So far so good. More tomorrow - hopefully will be the same minus the nausea.

How is your pain? I'm so worries about pain but I think I'm similar to you. I'm a runner and not much body fat. Did you have Lipo? Thanks

I would equate it to the soreness at the gym when you work the abs. In reality, i dont feel any pain in the area of the incisions...It is the abs. I have figured out how to get fup rom the recliner -glad to have strong arms for that to. Going to the bathroom has also been fine.

Hello there! Thank you for sharing your experience. Did you have Exparel? Also, I am really worried about the nausea. Was that just a side effect of your anesthesia?

Hi! I had Percocet the night of surgery and the next day. I didn’t take it after that. Then it was only Tylenol and ibuprofen 4 times a day. No exparel. They did give me nausea meds but I don’t believe I needed it as the nausea was more from the anesthesia. Hope that helps.
