My Tummy Tuck Experience with Dr. Biswas
I wanted to share my journey with Biswas Plastic Surgery. I had a tummy tuck performed by Dr. Biwas in June 2020-after carrying children and becoming a mom, I was eager and SO ready to get back to my before stretch mark look, which Dr. Biswas assured me would be accomplished through a tummy tuck.
It has now been almost 2 years since my procedure, and it has been a traumatizing and highly disappointing experience. Within a week of having my procedure, I sent Dr. Biswas photos of my belly button expressing concern that it was not healing well and did not look "right"- (pus, discharge, ooze), to which he assured me, it was simply healing and would be fine.
It became apparent quickly that my belly button was anything but "fine" and after severe redness and scar tissue that did not fade months later, Dr. Biswas performed a "belly button revision"-which again, he stated was very common.
Again, the belly button had the SAME horrible red, raised scarring. In spring of 2021, Dr. Biswas said that best course of action was to inject the area with a steroid. This unfortunately only made the belly button significantly worse, breaking down large areas of skin surrounding it.
In the fall of 2021, I expressed my continued concern and growing despair about my belly button with Dr. Biswas and we discussed having yet another belly button revision, to which he stated that now the skin is SO thin around my belly button, a revision would not be successful. He advised me that laser treatment could work to reduce the red appearance and texture of the skin, so I started treatments through Sue in their office. Sue tried 3 different lasers and ultimately decided that IPL treatment would be the best course of action. My last (of SEVERAL) laser therapies (which were NOT improving the skin in any way) in early 2022, left me severely burned with one large and several smaller blisters (see photos in comments). I sent photos immediately, to which Sue AND the Dr. said to just "use Neosporin and let it heal." I also spoke with Sue via telephone @ a later date to cancel a laser treatment I had made prior to the burn, and she said that the area is most likely "just done" and won't respond to the laser/it could be potentially making the belly button worse.
After letting it heal for months, I am now left with MORE scar tissue from the laser therapy that was recommended to me. Recently, I reached out to Dr. Biswas again to let him know that I was unfortunately left with no options with him/their office (as he had said the belly button is too thin for another revision and the laser was ineffective/made things worse). I expressed that I would like my money refunded, as I will need to seek care with another surgeon to have this corrected (in addition to the belly button disaster, I also am still left with the stretch marks I had initially had the surgery to correct) I also stated that I found it necessary to share my experience with others, so that they could have the information I desperately wish I had had prior to investing my trust, time, body, and money and choosing him as my surgeon.
Dr. Biswas' wife and main office contact, D'Arcy, responded to my 2nd written correspondence (after I did not hear from the doctor for several days), stating that she "refuses to have an open line of communication" with me. Only then did she provide me with Dr. Biswas' direct email, to which he did respond, stating that a refund to get care elsewhere was not an option, stating specifically that "results are highly variable" and sometimes do not "meet SUBJECTIVE expectations (please see photos in the comments of the work that was done and my current results 2 years later). He also stated that he is "inclined to think" that I "misinterpreted" hearing that nothing more is able to be done for me and that he doesn't know what has happened that would "merit extortion and reputation damage" (simply by posting my experience and true representation of my tummy tuck).
After 2 long years with one major surgery and multiple attempts to correct what was done to me, I am now left MORE scarred and distressed than when I started.
To those searching for a surgeon to invest in your well-being and those striving to get the results you so desperately want and deserve- please let my experience help you BEFORE you sacrifice your very real time and money only to be so much worse off.
