2 weeks post-op review: I chose Dr. Manon based on the recommendation of a friend who had a mommy makeover in 2016 and her results are fantastic. Very natural looking and proportionate. I also chose Dr. Manon because of the extraordinary care that my friend boasted of. However, this was not my experience. It started with my cash payment being miscalculated when I paid it. Although I had sense enough to hand count it in front of Rosa (his assistant) I couldn’t help but feel as though she was aware she had miscounted and was waiting to see if I would notice. Secondly, be aware that this clinic is a machine. They are there to get you in and get you out. When being discharged, I was told to take my time and I could leave when I was comfortable and only when I was comfortable. Hospital transport was in my room 5 mins later waiting to take me back to the recovery house, which I checked out of the day of my surgery because it was horrible. More on that later. When I went back to the clinic a week later for a check up, Dr. Manon simply looked me over, said “very nice” and left the room as another assistant cleaned my cut and belly-button. He never touched me. His assistant wasn’t even dressed in medical scrubs, just a T-shirt and jeans. Afterwards, I had to wait on some paperwork that was lost and the same assistant had me waiting for over an hour. It would’ve been longer had I not suggested that the paperwork be emailed to me because I was so uncomfortable sitting on the couch in the office. I’ve been home for almost a week and I’ve received no correspondence to follow up, additional recovery information, no information on when and where to have my drains removed, nothing. I’m grateful for my friend that had her surgery and who happens to be a nurse — this was truly the only way I knew what to expect from my body during recovery and how my recovery worked.
I originally booked my stay at Dreams Recovery House. My husband and I decided to leave after one night because my skin broke out in a rash from the blankets there. I guess I was allergic to whatever detergent they use, but the water was cut off when we got up the next morning for my surgery. The food is homemade and the taste was okay, but 3 chicken wings and juice boxes??? We eventually booked a suite at the Juaraga Hotel & Casino and the price was about $400 more than what we would’ve paid at the recovery house with meals. I paid a private nurse $35 a day to come clean me and give me a massage for four days while I was there. I would advise anyone to go that route. You will be disappointed with those recovery houses.
With all of this being said, I am sure that I will be pleased with my results. I already am, I just wish I had a different experience.
