5 week post op
I dont have any pain and I've changed my tapes a couple days ago. The incision is looking good & more flattened out since the 1st time I changed the tapes.
I am more flat in the morning and start swelling a bit mid day and evening.
I'm looking forward to being able to workout again, but in the meantime, I've been walking.
I stopped wearing my binder because I found it made my swelling worse and it was extremely uncomfortable. I feel way better without it. This is just me, but you should follow your surgeons instructions.
I'm now able to fully stand upright - it took about 4 weeks for that to happen.
Im still tender from the lipo on my flanks.
I've got a lymphatic massage scheduled this week to help love along the fluid/swelling.
I can see more definition in my abdominal area now and I suspect it will be more pronounced as it keeps healing.
I've attached a photos of my belly button 5 weeks post op.
It looks really good so far.
1st time seeing the scar - tape change
They seem to be healing good. Its hard to see oneself like this and hurts the self esteem a bit. That and I'm quite swollen today so its hard to look past these things right now.
There is a small section where the tape wasn't ready to come off, so I left it until it is ready.
The binder is one of the most annoying parts of this experience. It's tight, its restrictive and it leaves indents in my skin (temporarily) and yea, its hard to figure out how to dress with this thing on.
Pain is 0
Discomfort from swelling is 3/10
I'll update more next week or so.
2 Week Update
When I sit for too long, I feel very stiff and almost locked into that position. I did some research and its normal but not permanent. Part of the healing.
My incisions are slightly itchy (I understand this to be part of the healing process too)
Still in disbelief that I don't have big rolls and a stomach sitting on my lap anymore. Its wild and almost doesn't seem real.
Still have bruising but it's fading and my pain is 2/10 - its more discomfort than pain.
Swollen along the public done area still.
Can't wait to get back into my own bed as this powerlift chair is getting old.
Provider Review
I went with Dr Toy because of all the research and testimonials that made me feel like he was the best choice. He's knowledgeable and has a keen eye for detail. There is a FB page of his past clients called Toy Dolls and that was helpful, to be able to see women who had undergone surgery with Dr. Toy. His belly buttons looks amazing and everyone I've spoken to that has had surgery by him had nothing but positive things to say. Dr Toy has a gentle manner. I was hoping to see him right after surgery for a quick update on how things went but that didn't happen. There was a nurse named Cathy who was in the operating room and she was so kind and calm, I really appreciated her being there. Dr Unger (anesthesiologist) was also kind and good bedside manner. I would say Dr. Toy's cost for what I had done was fair. So far I am happy with my experience.
