2 days post op Tummy Tuck, muscle repair, lipo flanks & stomach
I'm 2 days post op and feeling good.
I was nauseated the first day with lots of puking. By the next day it was better. I'm sticking to thr medication schedule and that is helping with pain.
Pain level is 4/10 (would be higher without the meds).
I'm eating protein based (eggs, chicken, cheese) as this is recommended for best healing.
I had a shower today with help, it was exhausting. I need help to get on the toilet still.
I have a powerlift chair that I am so grateful for!
The surgery went well. I was super nervous when I arrived, but I had some time alone in the waiting room and that allowed me to calm down.
Dr Toy came in and marked me up. I showed him a picture of how I wanted my waist to look and he explained that he'd do his best. He noticed an asymmetry on my sides and marked me in a way to correct it with lipo. He has a very keen eye and I think he did a great job. I haven't had a chance to get a good look yet because I'm pretty hunched over.
I'll post more photos when I can stand more upright.
The nurse Cathy, was so kind and the anesthesiologist Dr. Unger was great too. Explained everything ahead of time and had a gentle bedside manner.
I have a binder that helps keep the swelling down and compression socks I wear (super uncomfortable)
I do release the binder while I'm in the recliner to allow the skin to breath and the blood to circulate because I don't want necrosis happening to me.
I feel itchy today, but I know that's the anesthesia.
Overall, I feel pretty good. A little shortness of breath because of the muscle tightening.
my drains get emptied 1x ever 24hrs and I record the amount of fluid. I'm hoping by my followup appt they can come out.
I took measurements of my abdomen prior to surgery and when I can stand upright, I'll measure again.
post soon.

8 days post op TT / MT /Lipo Flanks
I'm off the pain meds. The swelling on my hips, thighs and upper butt is agregious! I can't even get pants on. (part of the process).
I've had a light sneezing & dry cough the last couple days, and that hurts.
I've posted photos to show progress.
The recovery is sloooow. and I've never been a patient person. You 100% need help from someone else to get through at least the first week or so.
My drains come out tomorrow, welcoming that!
Do: get a reclining powerlift chair
Do: food prep ahead of time
Do: stay away from salty foods when recovering because your body WILL retain fluid even more and it so uncomfortable.
Do: accept that you will need help to the bathroom/showering
Do: use a stool softener (day 6 is when I finally got to poo)
Do: Rest, sleep, take it easy.
Do: get up a walk around even for a few minutes every hour you're not sleeping.
Do: follow your medication regime.
Do: drinks lots of water.
Do: understand the worst part of this is the back pain. It's almost intolerable. I started using a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel to ease the pain.
You're going to be hunched for awhile.
Don't: worry about what you look like You look like shit and so does everyone else recovering from this kind of surgery.
Don't: judge your results so early ...like at all before 3 months.
Don't: wear your binder without something underneath because its uncomfortable and you're wearing that binder all day/everyday (I wear a tank top)
