Light at the End of the Pain
UPDATED FROM chigirl44

One month Post-Op
WORTH IT
Things are progressing well. Bruises are pretty much 97% cleared up, mobility is limited in some areas like my knees (squatting is unpleasant) and inner thighs close to my groin are still tender. Judging by some areas that are tender to the touch, I believe there is still some swelling to resolve.
Things I’ve been doing to help with healing and pain management:
1. Sleeping with a pillow between my legs. This way my legs don’t rub against each other, preventing pain.. thanks pregnancy for teaching me that trick ;)
2. There was a week of itchiness as things were healing. This is normal and I bought Benadryl spray to help with that
3. I’ve been applying scar ointment religiously to my cuts (after 2 weeks). Some areas look better than others. Hoping with time they fade more and more
4. At the 2 weeks mark I also started applying Arnica Gel on the bruises, I’d like to think they went away faster because of this
Even with my cuts, I wore shorts for the first time in a long time this weekend!! Yeeeeee.
Adding before and current photo of my front. Although I think when looking from the back the difference is much more apparent.

ORIGINAL POST
Light at the End of the Pain
If you had asked me a week ago if doing Lipo on my legs was worth it, I would have said HELL NO. That’s why I waited with the review...
I’m 2 weeks post-op now, I had my inner/outer thighs and knees done, and so here are my thoughts:
1. Don’t think for a second that this procedure doesn’t hurt that bad. I went in with that illusion and was not mentally prepared for how brutal this procedure is. I felt like I was an animal being slaughtered and could hear, see, feel everything. It’s not pleasant and you should be prepared for that.
2. I was also under the impression that the post-op pain will only last a few days and then it’s just swelling and bruising that you have to deal with. WRONG. Walking, sitting, moving positions, etc was agony for a good 10 days. It’s been 14 days now and the discomfort and stiffness are still there. Tylenol has been my best friend.
3. The compression garnment was invented by a sadist, I’m certain of it. You have to shower every day, apply the ointment provided to your wounds, and that involves taking this garnment on and off... complete torture.
With all of that said, I’m finally at the stage where it’s just waiting for the bruising and swelling to pass and I couldn’t be happier with how my results look.
So think long and hard if you can handle all the discomfort that comes with this, and most importantly have the support and help at home to get past the first 2 weeks.
I’ll be back to post some more photos after the bruises are gone.
