Almost 2 weeks post op!!
Well I am almost 2 weeks post op and I feel fantastic! I still can't believe it when I look in the mirror. I look small and SMALL!!! The pictures I have added are of a shirt I couldn't even put on before the surgery-But I bought it anyway-I was so optimistic. It fits perfectly. I still have a little bit of scabbing on the scars but most of it has gone away. I still can't run or get my heart rate up for another week and 2 days. I go back to my PS on March 2.
If you are thinking about getting this surgery - DO IT!!!!
My best friend has told me over and over that she can't believe how good I look (she was against me getting the BR-she likes large breasts) but now she says she's jealous. I think she is rethinking her implants! haha.
The best thing though is how my hubby feels. He was totally against me getting this BR. He even said, 'You'll never be happy with the results...'. Well he is astonished!! He keeps saying that he can't believe, 1. How well I have recovered. & 2. How great I look. He said he thought that there would be so much more swelling and bruising and that I would look flat chested. Well I gotta tell ya -he really likes the new girls. He keeps complementing the PS. You have to know my husband, he is very stubborn and for him to change his outlook on this borders the miraculous. I think definitely my happiness has been one of the reasons and I really think he thought I would be in so much pain and just blubbering-and honestly that is not anything like me, but oh well.
I think losing 10lbs before my surgery and eating extremely clean and healthy was definitely part of the quick healing. Well that and my PS has incredible skills. But truly when you feel good about yourself and excited that has to help too.
I would warn some that 3 days after my surgery when I was a tad constipated and my belly was bloated was a bit of a let down-but I kept telling myself that the bloating would go away and that I should get up and move and keep drinking tons of water. The first 3 days I drank so much water it was insane. I was getting up to pee every hour-which definitely helped decrease the risk of blood clots.
I would suggest to all who are getting ready for your surgery-In the months leading up to the surgery eat healthy and clean. Lots of fruits and veg. Lean meats and fish. Decrease your sugar intake and if you drink alcohol limit that. If you smoke try and quit because that is one of the big risk factors for infection. Try and lose a few pounds if you need to, but I wouldn't crash diet because if you lose a ton of weight you may gain it all back after and you know where that will go.
I am so thankful for this site because reading what others did and how they prepared helped me get the most out of my BR. Thanks to all of you and happy healing.

ITCHING!!!!!
Holy Hell-What is with the itching??????. I feel like I could scratch for days!!! Im down to taking benadryl for the itching because it is insane and making me insane. Anyone have this issue?
Post op day #4
Got my period last night-ugh. I have no pain with my breast reduction and just a mild amount of itchiness. BUT my husband finally agrees that this surgery was needed! He told me last night that he couldn't believe how well I was doing. He also said he had thought I would be very picky about the outcome and wanted everything to be perfect-. For the record, I knew it wouldn't be perfect. I just wanted smaller. Smaller is what I have and I know from browsing this support site for months that it takes about 6 months for things to actually be in their right place. I feel so light and my shoulders feel incredible. Laying in bed at night my upper arms actually have room and sleeping is so much easier. I should have done this 10 years ago instead of getting implants to fill out the skin! I also look so much skinnier. I fit into my size Small tops now without popping buttons. I am truly elated! Dr. Mather's and his team are incredible! This surgery was a breeze!!!!! They made it so easy and his bedside manner and that of his staff are exceptional. I highly recommend Dr. Mathers. You will never regret this surgery.
Provider Review
Mark Mathers MD
I know Dr. Mathers personally and as a PA have seen him operate. He is fantastic and quite skilled with his hands. He is direct and tells you up front whether you are being rational in your expectations. His office staff is lovely and make you feel so comfortable. Dr. Mathers has his own surgery center so you are not exposed to sickness like in a hospital setting. It is very private and the staff are very attentive and caring.
