Wanted Better jawline/no jowls - went back and added chin liposuction after nerves calmed - Tucson, AZ

Added Chin Lipo today

Ruthy75
WORTH IT
So I added chin lips today!!! I regret not doing it the first time around with the mini lift, but I almost chickened out of the mini lift the first time around. Remember, I originally booked for a facelift/necklift, so my nerves combined with jet lag and fears of looking like Joan Rivers, Kim Kardashian etc etc, almost made me get on the first plane back home.. However, my recovery from the mini lift was super easy, except for the first night, which was very challenging for me, so I went back for chin lips today. My mother has a lot of chin fat/laxity, so I know that will happen to me - that stuff is hereditary. ANYWAYS, II did it today and it was literally over in 15 minutes. I felt nothing. I mean nothing! I had no drugs just the numbing injections. My advice for anyone coming from overseas or even New York, Seattle etc etc is give yourself a few days to rest properly as nerves and fatigue from travel can dampen your spirits, and you could end up back in the surgery twice in one week, when the procedure could have been done once. However, he told understood. Dr Maloney's nurse, Susan I believe, is super sweet and made me a coffee when i was done - that is how easy the procedure is.

I did nothing to my lips

So you did the lower lift and then the Lipo? I'm sorry to ask so many questions but I am similar looking in lower face to you before, I model an am trying to be extremely careful in my choices. Did you think it didn't define lower jaw line enough without Lipo?

And I too wanna avoid the Kim Kardashian look. (Done) just want clean jaw line.

I chose to add the chin liposuction as I don't the next time I will come back to the USA. The mini lift yielded great results and a great jawline BUT if you look at my family, they all have chin fat. I didn't have the neck lift most people have with the scar under the chin, and I knew my chin was a "trouble" area, so I did it as a preventive measure. I chickened out of a full neck lift when I got here. He said a small of fat came out, like 5-7cc, but that is not what matters, it is how your chin carries it. If you saw me on my phone from a side view, I had a double chin for sure, but I am thin. TRUST ME, I get what you mean about being careful as I work in public speaking. It is true that a lot of people, like us, who have this problem of lower fullness also have good bone structure in the upper face. Do you know who Helena Christensen is? I have bone structure like that - really strong at the cheeks, but the chin is weak and carries fat and there is no way I would get a chin implant. That type of ageing needs surgery, not jabs of whatever, to fix it.

Thank you for the detailed response, helps a lot. All I need is one more mistake as I did ultherapy an that's what made me seek this procedure earlier as burnt thru my facial fat on lower face creating a true double chin I was trying to slightly correct originally with ultherapy! Ugh. So another reason I'm hesitant to do anything quickly again. I'm really trying to understand what each procedure WILL/CAN do both good an bad. Of course unscrupulous providers will say they all are needed but your doctor seems very reputable an certainly was honest on the needed procedures for you. That alone I'll travel for. This stuff is certainly not one size fits all as you mentioned you have a unique facial shape like Helena. I too have high, full cheeks and a jaw line naturally like yours. My facial shape when younger is like Sophia Loren. I'm not trying to model 21 yr old look but at my age an with rest of well preserved looks wish to do more catalog an spokes person work so I get you an congratulations to you for the terrific results. Believe me I understand how anxiety laden the task of finding an excellent provider is.

I am so sorry ultherapy was wrong for you . I considered it but given my face heaviness I just kind of knew it couldn't possibly work for me. I had loads of docs offer it. Maybe start with chin lips and see where that gets you? It is very funny you say Sophia Loren because I have been told that as well, but I also have that strong Roman nose, but it seems we have a similar structure, so I hope that this feedback helps. I know what you mean about not wanting to look 21. I am not a model, but I am in a public speaking profession and I want to look good because I like the way I look, not because I want to look like a Kardashian etc. I like me, and I want to preserve "me", and also it helps with work as I don't have to worry about how I look so much. The travelling was actually good as I was totally care free and away from family and friends. Tucson is so laid back so you can walk around puffy and weird and no one cares, I mean no one. Not so in Paris - people would comment and stare at you. I will try and post again soon but there hasn't been much change. He said the swelling on the chin will get worse before it gets better, so I am waiting a few days.

You made me laugh when I read "Chin Lips"; I KNEW it was a 'spell-correct' function!

Doctor for all my ageing concerns - next is laser!

Ruthy75
Also, I should I am an American living in Paris, and I wanted to find a doctor to help me as I age and Dr Maloney will be around for this! This was very important in my selection process. Many doctors are too old or too young and too inexperienced, but I found a doctor with just right amount of experience and an appropriate age. On the Euro or Pound, his prices are very favourable. Next, I plan on doing an extensive skin resurfacing to fight wrinkles. I like knowing I have a doctor for my concerns, rather than going from one doctor to the next.

Painless procedure but....

Ruthy75
I would say the aftermath was not a walk in the park. The first night was pretty difficult for me - I had to take pain medication that was prescribed. However, I went for my check up today, or three days later, and the office couldn't believe how good I looked. SO, while you might look good outside you definitely feel deflated inside. I had a no salt diet for a month before because I swell and although I am thin I have a chubby face.
