I am a 55 year old female who just underwent face-lift surgery at Maloney Plastic Surgery in Tucson, AZ. My issues were my neck and sagging jawline. I had the good fortune of being familiar with Dr. Maloney's reputation for exceptional, natural and beautiful results and that's what I got! The fact that this doctor and his world class expertise and credentials (educated at Columbia, trained at Harvard and Chief Resident at Mass General) is right here in Tucson is a gift to all of us here in the Southwest looking for surgical cosmetic enhancement or plastic reconstructive surgery. Now I know first hand why Dr. Maloney is repeatedly voted one of the Best Doctors in America by his peers.  Not only do I think his skills as a surgeon are exceptional but I think it is worth traveling here from any distance to have this procedure performed by him! The procedure itself lasted about 3 hours and was performed in his office under local anesthesia using the latest surgical techniques. I was awake the entire time actually enjoying pleasant conversation with Dr. Maloney and his surgical nurse Susan. They had music playing in the room. I was never in pain and was completely relaxed. I will be uploading before and after pictures once I am a few weeks out, but I can tell you that within 24 hours I could already see I had beautiful, subtle and natural results. I was out in public the day after with makeup on and people couldn't tell I had had surgery! I am only 9 days out at this point so I don't have my "after" photos taken yet by their office but I am as happy as can be! I have been to Dr. Maloney's office for a few other non-invasive cosmetic procedures and every single one of his staff are well trained professionals. Whether it's the receptionist who greets you, the aesthetic/laser technicians, surgical nurse or business manager, they are a unified team who treat you with the utmost respect and kindness. Though I had none, Dr. Maloney made sure to let me know he is available 24/7 afterwards for any questions or concerns. Stay tuned for pics to be posted soon and please feel free to ask me questions about my experience!

Thank you so much for sharing! How are you feeling at this point? Have you been out and about in public much?

March 5, 2016
Yes, I have been in public quite a bit, including right after the surgery and most folks were not aware that I had had surgery. There is some discomfort during the healing process and I was low energy so I rested up for the better part of a week right after. I'm 2 1/2 weeks out from the surgery and back to my normal routine except for lifting anything really heavy or vigorous exercise. Much of the swelling has subsided and I feel really youthful looking and beautiful. I'm getting ready to add photos I just received from the doctors office. Before and afters..

Thank you for uploading your photos! You were gorgeous to begin with, and still are. Wow!

My word you look amazing! Like 35 not 55!! That is exceptional. I honestly hope I look half as good as you when I'm your age.
What skin care do you use? You have such smooth skin?
March 7, 2016
Thank you for your kind comments! The skincare line I use is Mikelkristi. The formulations are very "clean" and anti-imflammatory. They are available on-line from either Mikelkristi.com or Myskinappeal.com The essential products I use are: Growth Factor Serum, Vital A Serum and Vital C serum.

I just had a tummy tuck with Dr. Maloney on March 4. I could not agree with you more. I am so pleased with my results already.thanks for Sharing. I too have those aging areas on my face and often think about having something done as well. I am 51 years old. Glad to hear you are doling well and the look is " natural"

I cannot believe you're 55! I would have guessed 30's. You look fantastic! I've been contemplating a mini-facelift and seeing your results is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

You look fabulous by the way! You say you were out in public the next day, did you have to wear any bandages or anything noticeable? I am thinking about getting a facelift, the only thing keeping me is the downtime and of course the expense.
October 27, 2016
I was out in public briefly having breakfast at my hotel before heading home and I did not wear anything while doing that. I did put my ace bandage back on for some compression as I traveled from the lower elevation of Tucson at around 2100 ft to my home in Cochise County at 4500 ft elevation. There is down time of a few days just because of the discomfort and your body needs to rest from the trauma of surgery but really not too bad. You will have a tube inserted beneath the skin of your neck to drain the fluids for up to 5-6 days. Do take a few days off if you work, to let your body recover.
January 21, 2017
Is the tube that is inserted beneath the skin noticeable? I am going in for a consultation next month and am very excited. The only thing that really concerns me is the downtime. Because of well personal reasons.....I would like to be "away" from home during this time. How long did it take for the swelling and bruising to go away?
January 21, 2017
The tube comes out when your team feels you are done draining which can be anywhere from 3-7 days typically. It is noticeable but you can always wear a scarf. Bruising and swelling is different for each person. Well everyone swells but I didn't bruise. Swelling 90% gone in 3 weeks but depending on your age, the swelling tends to look good. No wrinkles! I was out in public in a week and I looked good!

You look beautiful! I want to get that so bad but I'm terrified !

Surgery is serious stuff and I sympathize with you. The only reason I was confident about this is because I know several people (both men and women) who have had facelifts by Dr. Maloney with beautiful and natural results. I cannot attest to other surgeons. I don't know where you live, but doing research before you select a surgeon is really important. I hope that if you decide to go forward with this that you get the beautiful, desired results you are looking for!

Thank you, and you're right, doing your research is the key to a successful procedure regardless of what it is. I live in Texas and just had the CO2 fractional laser resurfacing and just had the CO2 fractional laser resurfacing. Ouch! I got it done at Georgetown plastic surgery with Dr. Stabler. He did a wonderful job. You look beautiful, good luck to you

Fantastic result! Very natural, just 10years younger

You look like you had nothing done in terms of surgery, amazing! Have you returned to work? How are you feeling? Has anyone noticed and do you think anyone can tell?

I am following your thread with great interest. Thanks for your updates. You look great! x
March 11, 2016
Thank you Woowoo! I do not have a full time job, so that was a non-issue but I would tell you that if I did, I would allow myself a full 7-8 days off before returning to work not because of aesthetics, but because of the healing and the rest you need after surgery. The surgery was actually really easy but your body knows it's been through trauma and you get really tired after it. Also, I would say there is 3-4 days of discomfort and you don't feel like doing anything. My normal energy level (or close to it) returned around a week later. You want to give yourself time to recover... again, I couldn't be happier. I feel like my surgeon turned back the hands of time and returned me to what I looked like when I was maybe 40....

I just posted a couple of pics of myself from last weekend - 3 weeks post surgery...

Wow-wah-whee-whaa! You have an amazing result from your surgeon (but you took great structure to the operating table)!
I hope that you are enjoying the fabulous fruits of his (and you) labours. xXXx
March 12, 2016
Thank you!
March 12, 2016
Stunning! You look younger than me and I'm 43. Honestly, you looked younger than me before, LOL. I was planning to go to NC to have Dr Harley do my FL but now that I know there's a similar option right here in AZ (FL under local anesthesia), I'll probably go to Dr. Maloney. My bf kept telling me there had to be someone here locally that does the same FL procedure under a local. Your results are beyond amazing. But you were an exquisite beauty to begin with. Thanks so much for sharing! You saved me a cross country trip!
March 12, 2016
Wow. Thank you for your kind comments and I'm so happy that you saw this and decided to stay in AZ. Dr. Maloney is an expert in this procedure. You will not only be happy, but you will pay a lot less and without the hassle of traveling elsewhere. Please let me know if you would like to talk to me via phone. I would be happy to go into details with you....
March 12, 2016
You look beautiful. Can you
Upload close ups of your ears so we can see how he treated the incision, Lobes and tragus. Thank you gor sharing.
March 12, 2016
Would it be possible to see your ear scars and the type of incision was made? Was it an S-lift?
March 12, 2016
I'm sure I can get a photo of the front "seam" to post. I'm not familiar with the term S lift, but Dr. made an incision at front of ear and then back of ear that went up about 1" beyond top of ear within my scalp. This was face-lift only, no blepheroplasty. I also take advantage of dermal fillers to replace lost volume. I've been doing that for about 8 years.
March 12, 2016
Great, thanks for the feedback! I am considering this but always wear my hair in a bun so am a bit concerned. I am so amazed how good you look. Good for you!
March 14, 2016
Yes, I feel the same. I wear my hair up, so the incisions around the ears, pre or post tragus and how the lobes and tragus look after a lift is very important to
Me.
March 16, 2016
I just posted ear scar pics
March 16, 2016
wow, thanks so much. it looks great. i am booking a consult with him!
March 17, 2016
Glad this helps! Please do mention that you were referred to him via me "benyak". He will want to know how you found him... in addition, feel free to private message me if you want to discuss via phone about the entire procedure and healing process as I've experienced it.
March 17, 2016
Great, I will let you know. You look great. Thanks for all your help. Did you follow a special diet outside the normal doctor prescribed diet. I ask because you look super good at one week and a lot of people at that point look like they have been in a car wreck. You look like maybe you have post laser swelling and that is it. Great result!
March 18, 2016
I just stayed away from blood thinners, that was it...I was fortunate I didn't really bruise up too much. The bruises I did have were not in visible locations....
