9 months later...

Well, I certainly wish I could say otherwise... But the procedures ended up being a complete waste of money. No overall improvement of 'inches' and certainly no improvement in weight. 9 months later (and watching my calorie and fat intake - I actually reduced my cholesterol by 30 points...yea!) my stomach is exactly the same size it was before. Bummer...

I've never been overweight, never had to diet....

I've never been overweight, never had to diet. I've got 2 kids who are young adults now and never had trouble keeping my 5'3" frame anywhere between 120 and 125 lbs. over this past year I had bunion surgery which certainly reduced my activity level, but I also went through menopause. My midsection swelled and I started getting what I refer to as an old man's beer belly. The fat begins right below my breasts and extends down to a new 'apron-like' bulge. My legs remain thin and my butt flat. YUCK! I've never had a 'waist' (I'm I guess what you'd call an 'apple' shape), but now can't fit anything with a waistband. I sold a piece of gold jewelry to help pay for the procedure (they were having a 50% off special) and decided to do it, even though they made it clear there is no guarantee it will work. I won't go under general anesthesia and so I was willing to take the risk. Greenspring procedure is to inject the sites with a numbing agent so the pain is tolerable. It still was pretty painful in some areas but I had 15 sites done and got through it with 2 lorazepam and a half an oxicotin. I'm now one week post procedure and my bruising is starting to diminish. The discomfort is still here, but I haven't had to take anything for it. I have been taking measurements and even though I certainly don't think my thickness has gone down, the measuring tape actually has a different story to tell. That makes me hopeful that this will have been worth it.
