Hello everyone, I'm back. This time getting a medial thigh lift. I need everyones input who has had a medial thigh lift please. I know everyone heal differently and I'm desperate for advice.

I'm having a medial thigh lift and will only be taking 5 days off. Is that enough healing time? I had a tt a year and a half ago and did great..

Hi, I'm currently 8 days post-op from a medial/spiral thigh lift. I also got a breast lift, but that's *nothing* compared to this gnarly, character-building surgery. I had a lower body lift several years ago and flew home one week later. My awesome PS, Dr. Peter Fisher said that wasn't enough for this, so I took 2 weeks off. He probably does as many of those as anyone else in the country, except maybe Dr. Agha, and I'm not sure about that. He wasn't kidding. The spiral component, the incision that goes around the back of the thigh is probably the most painful thing, so if you don't have that, it may not be so bad. So, I'd say it depends on: 1) if you have the spiral component, 2) your age & general health, 3) how quickly your recover your energy, and 4) the requirements of your job. I'd recommend starting back part-time if that's possible. If you have a more active job like a nurse of teacher, I'd say to take longer. If you have a sedentary job that is flexible enough that you could move, take a break, leave early if you need to, then it might be okay. Whatever you do, good luck with your surgery! Come back and post so everyone can see the range of reactions post-op.

One thing I forgot to add: The scientific literature indicates that complications for thigh lifts in general (not just medial) have a complication rate that may reach as high as 60%. Of course, that will vary by patient characteristics, surgeons, etc. The most common are infection and dehiscence, opening of the incisions. I've seen more than a few photos here of women who did too much, too soon, and ended up with opened incisions. Not fun.

I am scheduled for a breast and thigh lift on March 18 and am getting increasingly apprehensive about the thigh lift. Any helpful suggestions for recovery?

My biggest life saver for recovery was getting a female pee funnel. It is very hard and painful to sit down on a hard surface and with the funnel you can pee standing up. It also helps keep the incision clean as you are not getting pee around the area. I highly recommend the 'Freshette' which you can purchase on Amazon. Also a recliner is a great investment as it helps distribute your body weight so all of the pressure is not on the incision. Good luck!

Thank you!

How long did you have to use the 'Freshette' for? When could you sit on a normal chair without pain?

According to this Doctor Q&A, five days might be a bit optimistic.  At least two weeks seems to be a good estimate.  Has your surgeon given you an idea of how long it may take to recover? Please keep us updated on your progress.

I had a medial thigh lift as well as lower body lift and butt augmentation on 11/4/15. I'm 11 weeks out now. The thigh lift scars are more difficult than the LBL. 5 days is really optimistic in my untrained opinion. At week 2 I had some leaking of fluid and pinhole openings along the scar that my doctor said were normal and I was healing great. I wore pads under tight yoga pants for 5 weeks afterward. If you don't need to walk or stand much for your job then maybe but I'd plan two weeks. Good luck!

I'm in Tucson as well! Who will you be going to? I have my medial thigh lift scheduled for Dec. 19 and I will be taking off 3 weeks as recommended by my PS. I had my LBL last month, and I probably could have went back to work (desk job) at 2 weeks, but I didn't want to go back to soon and stayed out for a little over 3 weeks. My PS plans to do the thigh lift that extends into the butt crease, but I'm not sure if I want it extended that far.

Hi there,

I had a medial thigh lift done 7 weeks ago. I healed without any complications and also had a tummy tuck in summer 2014. You will need to take at least 2 if not 3 weeks off work to recover. There is no way you can go back to work after 5 days even a sitting down desk job. Sitting is just way too painful.

I got it done on 8/29/16 let me tell u it was very very uncomfortable to get out of my bed and do something took like a month healing was about the same time. 5 days is def not enough. I had in 5/12/16 TT, BL, AL n BBL I dunno if it was too much but those Sx were easy compared to TL...I can tell you 2nd was better but not completely...Good luck!

Glad you are doing well! I hope you're like me. I'm at day 11 and I'm working out (all doctor approved exercises) cleaning the house, working full time and doing fine. FYI I have no one to assist me. I had help on days 1 and 2 and have been on my own since. Plus, I had a full tummy tuck and breat lift on Dec 23....7 weeks ago. Maybe it's a mind set?

For the first four days I did nothing but stay in bed with my legs up. I only got out of bed to go to the bathroom and I did that standing up. I had a mini frig with food and a cooler by my bed with drinks. When I went to the bathroom I'd stop at the mini frig for a snack.

I went out to dinner with my daughter yesterday and did fine. I think the lipo hurts more than the stitches. I love my results so far and that over powers tbe pain. Mini frig.. now i didnt even think of that

Hello, you look amazing. I am going for a consultation of a medical thigh lift, what is the difference between the regular thigh lift and a medical thigh lift? If you know could you please explain it to me?
