On to scar cream
WORTH IT$19,000
No more tapes this past week, what a relief. Dr. H still wants me to use the underwire tape for my left breast as the fold is slacking in it’s development. Hoping she will start dropping soon. I am see a slight size difference, my right breast is now smaller than right, this one has the smaller implant bc it was originally the larger one. I’m noticing on my right breast that the inside lower pole doesn’t have a totally round curve where my cleavage line forms. I’m hoping this will fill in or with further dropping and fluffing, that will be resolved. Otherwise I guess I can get fat transfer if it really bother me? Physically I feel very well, but I have not started exercising. I just don’t want to push it. I’m also still wearing the surgical bra 24/7 and an ace bandage.

Still healing
I’m still on antibiotics. Not sure I actually had an infection, because apparently that is pretty rare following BA. In any case, redness is not as bright as before. My wounds are still a tiny bit raw, but I noticed some of the scars are nearly invisible around the areola. My vertical incisions are mad haggard-looking. I noticed my nipples are slightly different sizes and one isn’t completely round, it has like a flat edge, with time it may change or I can get it tattooed. I found the best most comfortable bra! It’s called the PrairieHugger and it’s amazing! It def feels like a hug. I also bought one on Amazon called Curveez which I like. I’m still wearing the ace bandage daily. Doc asked me to change my tapes every 3-4 days. Other than that, I’m showering with hibiclens just around the incisions and not directly rubbing them. My fold is forming nicely on one side whereas the other side is lagging, but I’m hoping with time it will. That side was the more constricted boob, she’s like my lazy eye haha.

Infection
I noticed some redness on my left breast a couple days ago. I texted my doctor yesterday and heard back today. He’s on a trip so he’s not available to see me, although if I really needed to be seen his other colleagues are available. However, I sent him a message about the redness spidering out from my incisions and he asked me to remove my tapes, shower - take photos of untaped wound to send him- and replace with new tape. That was quite stressful having to remove the tapes, it made it easier to get the tape wet and go slowly. I had scabs forming underneath that were getting pulled off. I noticed a small open flap of skin on top of my areola, like 1/8” maybe between stitches. He prescribed me doxycycline which I will need to take for 10 days to deal with this infection. I’m bummed; I have an existing yeast infection from the previously prescribed antibiotic for the first couple days after surgery.
I don’t know if this is typical with a mastopexy to get an infection. Has anyone else experienced this within the first week of procedure? I’ve also noticed some rippling in my lower poles on each side. I read due to lack of breast tissue, the implant can become rippled. I need to discuss this with my surgeon at my next post-op in one week.
