A week post op

WORTH IT$12,127
Dressings removed and tape reapplied by the nurse. She was happy with how things looked - it all looked pretty scary from my end from the mastopexy! But she reassures me it will all flatten and settle down beautifully. Sensation very much reduced around the areola but preserved nipple sensation. Skin under the breast is totally numb from where i presume they recruited the skin from my chest wall to correct the tuberous nature of my ‘old’ breasts.

Day 6 post op

Feeling quite bruised underneath and hard to keep sleeping on my back at night. First week nearly done - dressings due to be changed so hopefully will look less scary! They do feel a bit less tight and swollen. Back to work today - got lifts there and back and working from home the rest of the week.

Day 6

Not needing as much pain relief any more and harder and harder to avoid overdoing it at home. Still feels very tight - as if I’ve got a too small bra on all the time. The left breast is more uncomfortable around the base incision than the right so slightly worried if I’ve split it or something. Will see when they change the dressings tomorrow. The post GA/analgesia induced constipation is a beast but finally on high enough laxatives to get things going again!
Feeling generally happy but also a bit wobbly as the reality of what I’ve had done sinks in - can’t wait to go bra shopping and try out clothes I never would have worn before! Struggling too with the lack of exercise and bloating and weight gain but trusting that in a month or so I can start the path back to fitness again.
