Bad Experience

I've had a very bad experience with this doctor, he did my nose the first time in 2013 and it came out totally crooked and wrong, he then assured me that his revisions were his "best work", I guess his best work is subpar since he barely straightened my nose. I came in for a 2nd revision again because he left me with a projected tip and took too much off my supratip, he told me he was going to fill it in with cartilage and shave a little more off my hump, turns out he totally lied to me since he did no such thing and only shaved a little off my hump, so now I still have a tip projection. I came in for a final meeting in summer 2017 and he told me he knew what was wrong but that "nobody would notice" and he wouldn't touch my nose again. I woke up during surgery multiple times, he just tells you to shut up and I would also hear things like "ohh no! ohh no!" from his nurse while my operation was happening (his nurse is very rude as well), he's also very inappropriate and constantly asks for hugs. The only good thing this doctor left me with was a straight septum, at least I got that for my money but now I'm seeing somebody else since I think this final outcome is unacceptable and I've learned he did things to my nose we never agreed upon. He's retired now so I guess none of this matters to him, but I can still tell the world how awful he is.

Golden tip

Also the "golden tip" is a thing for him and many doctors in the Detroit area will tell you because lots of people who had their nose done by him get revisions to fix it, he took out cartilage from the tip even when he specifically told me he was not going to touch my tip at all. Absolute nightmare doctor from hell.

Horrible Experience

concernecpatient

At the end of my teens I noticed that my nose had grown crooked and my hump was fairly large, my breathing was never that great either. I decided after high school that I would finally get my issues fixed. I wanted my nose straightened and my hump shaved down a bit. I was brought to golden by a family member, I was told he did a lot of noses and had plenty of experience, he told me he would fix everything during the consultation. He said to me exactly this; my nose tip was perfect and that he was not going to mess with it in any way. After seeing good reviews, some photos and gaining my trust I decided to go through with the procedure. After the primary it was clear he totally messed up, my nose was still crooked and my supratip was overly reduced, and I still had a hump, he assured me that his revisions were his best work and that he was going to fill in my supratip so I allowed him to take me under again (I woke up during surgery multiple times, a horrific experience, he just tells you to "shut up"). Afterward, I was left with this result, a somewhat straightened nose with a pinched tip and the same over-reduced supra tip. Dr. Golden lied straight to my face and instead just did whatever he wanted to do. I feel completely violated and I wish somebody warned me, this was supposed to be one of the best doctors for rhinos, somebody who has done tons of noses who had lots of experience. I put up with his inappropriate behavior and his rudeness because I thought the end result would be worth it. I now need revision surgery to bring back my natural tip and fill in the gap he left on my supratip and I might need deprojection. Trust the signs, listen to all the red flags and don't put up with rude or creepy doctors just because you think they might give you a good result, make sure to see recent before and after pics and dig for as many reviews as possible.
