I'm 47 years old, and for last 10 years or so, I haven't liked my boobs. I'm 5 feet, roughly 155 lbs, with size 34J boobs! Not cool. With clothes on you can't really tell how large they are because I generally dress in a corporate manner (suits), buy when the clothes come off, bam! There is zero elevation in my boobs; I lost that years ago. I'm looking forward to taking my bra off and my GURLS not dropping. My husband is still nervous and hesitant, but he will get on board. This is enhancement for ME, and happy wife, happy life! I'm slightly nervous, but my prayers will override my nervousness. At my recent pre-op, my doctor had a man to man talk with my husband, and I sincerely appreciated that. I bought a front closure sports bra at the suggestion of my doctor and just doing that alone made me happy. The goal is 34D. I will post before pics soon, but I'm sending encouragement to ANYONE who needs it! Stay tuned!

Hi I had my surgery about 2-1/2 months ago and I am very happy with it! I had it at St. Joseph's in Ann Arbor, everything went well. I wish you the best, you are going to be very happy. Are you having your surgery at Beaumont? My husband was very nervous too, but he was a great caretaker!

Yes, I am having it at Beaumont. I received a call from the anesthesia dept yesterday for a pre-op talk. I said a nice, thorough prayer yesterday, which made me feel better. I've had surgery before, so I'm not sure why so nervous this time. I had a hysterectomy about 10 years ago. How long did you stay off work?

My husband is nervous too. Did you have any nipple sensation decrease?

None at all. I ended up staying overnight in the hospital because I wasn't breathing deeply when I was coming out of surgery my husband kind of freaked out and wanted me to stay overnight which was fine with me. They checked my breasts later that evening and I had perfect sensation, I think you only lose feeling when you have a full nipple graft, which is not common. Of course you are nervous, but you will be fine. Just baby yourself for a while after the surgery, I returned to work about two and a half weeks (after sutures were removed) and I was fine. Don't try to do too much or lift and reach. Get some comfy pillows and make yourself a soft supportive nest! You are going to be fine and you are going to feel so much better - I will mention you in my prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery! :)

I am starting the process as well. No insurance review yet. I am a 36H and my goal is 36C- I am only 5-2 and feel like I will topple over.

Thank-you for sharing about your experience with your breast reduction. I'm 56 and seriously thinking about getting this done for myself. I've always had large breasted and suffered my whole life because of it. I'm 5'3" 129lbs and very small boned. Everything on me is small except my bra size 34G; most people can't believe I'm this large. When I come home from work the first thing I do is take off my bra....relief. I've always been afraid to go under knife but now I just want relief from my pain and being uncomfortable during the day. I need all the encouragement I can get. Renee

I an now 3 days away from my big day! I don't really know how I feel. My emotions are all over the place! I'm, excited, happy, nervous, anxious, all at the same time. One of my best friends is coming from Maryland to stay with me for 5 days to help out, which I am very grateful for, considering she's a nurse. This site has been a TREMENDOUS help for me. I feel like I've read stories from one end of the spectrum to the other. I am thanking and praising God in advance for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. It is also my prayer that my nerves don't and won't get the best of me the night before.

Best wishes for your surgery! I have 2 PS consultations scheduled for BR, the first on Monday 5/4 and the second the following Monday on 5/11, both doctors have excellent reviews both for BR and their bedside manner, so I hope it's not a tough choice! This site has really cemented the decision for me, I've waited far too long (am 46, 5'2" and 34F/34G). Good luck, I can't wait to see your progress!

Your story and age and measurements sound like mine! I'm 47 and 5'0". Please make sure you really do your research regarding doctors. I went to 4 different doctors for consultations. Some of the doctors with the best ratings had the worst bedside manners. My selected doctor had great reviews AND wonderful bedside manners. That made me very comfortable. It's very important that I actually LIKE the doctor who is cutting my girls!

You go girl. You will be just fine. I am three weeks post-op and yes a still a little sore, but all is healing well. Everyone says take it easy and they are right. Even though you feel good, rest, watch tv, read, and just enjoy the moment. I love looking at my perky little breasts. I went from a G cup to a C cup. No regrets.

I keep hearing the key is to get plenty of rest. Even if you feel like you can do things, don't! I plan to catch up on some reading and totally doing nothing at all for my 1st week. Surgery is May 1 and post-op is May 11. I will do nothing until my post-op.

This is my first time to comment on this site. I look forward to hearing how your surgery goes and how you feel about your results. I am 51 about 5'2" 150 lbs and a 34J. We are very similar! I wish you well! I have a consultation scheduled for next week. It will be my first step in pursuing a reduction. I'm excited and nervous. :)
