More Than Surgical Skill, a Surgeon Who Understood Femininity
WORTH IT
Hi, I’m Bella, a Thai transgender woman living and working in Bangkok.
I work in the technology industry, where precision, structure, and attention to detail are a big part of my everyday life. When it came to one of the most important decisions of my life , gender-affirming surgery, I approached it in much the same way, with careful research, long-term thinking, and a lot of attention to detail.
Choosing a surgeon is an intensely personal decision.
For me, choosing Dr. Phatwira (Dr. Ae) at APS Clinic was intentional. One important factor was that I wanted a female surgeon. I was looking for someone who could combine technical excellence with a refined understanding of female anatomy, aesthetics, and the overall patient experience.
From my very first consultation, Dr. Phatwira stood out through her calm professionalism, precision, and transparency.
Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt performative.
She explained the surgical plan, healing expectations, and recovery pathway with clarity and realism. More importantly, I felt genuinely respected throughout the process, not simply treated as another surgical case.
And now, several months after surgery, I can finally look at the result with enough healing time behind me to say this: I’m genuinely happy with my decision.
The result feels natural and proportionate to my body, and I’m very happy with the overall aesthetic outcome. Just as importantly, my recovery has progressed well and I’ve gradually been able to return to normal daily life.
Of course, recovery from this surgery is a long process. Healing, swelling, sensitivity, and dilation all evolve over time, so I don’t consider the result something that should be judged only in the first few weeks.
But perhaps the most meaningful “result” for me isn’t something that can be captured in a photograph.
It is the feeling of finally being comfortable with my own body.
For me, Dr. Phatwira and the APS team gave me exactly what I was looking for: technical confidence, thoughtful care, clear communication, a structured recovery process , and ultimately, a result that I feel genuinely happy to live with.
For the first time in my life, I feel a profound sense of peace and alignment with my own body.
