At 22 years old, I had been feeling self conscious...

At 22 years old, I had been feeling self conscious about my nose for some time, mostly due to the bump on the bridge. I talked to my parents and they agreed to support me in my decision to have a nose job. I did A LOT of online research for many weeks before deciding on a consultation with Dr. Solomon. It is clear from what you see online that he truly is a specialist with nose surgery. He was extremely professional and practical during the consultation. He said he honestly didn't think I had a bad nose at all, but that surgery to remove the bump and shorten the tip slightly would definitely be beneficial. He was honest and practical the whole time, saying that he wanted to achieve a subtle, natural looking result. I was convinced he was the right surgeon for me, and went ahead and booked my surgery without even consulting with any other doctors. My surgery was scheduled for 4 months later, and I couldn't have been happier! Until I started to panic. I thought why was I so dumb as to not consult with more than one surgeon? I should have at least explore my options. However I knew it was too late and I had to trust my original gut instinct that told me he was the right one for me.

We went back a couple months later for the imaging, and that was great! The pictures do a good job of showing you the potential "after" result, however they are quick to tell you that this is just an idea, and not a guarantee.

On the day of my surgery, I was so nervous! While I was in the waiting room Dr. Solomon came over to me to say hi and ask if I had any final questions before we went into the operating room. I just reiterated to him exactly what it was that I wanted, bump removed and tip shortened. He assured me that he would make me look as absolutely natural as possible.

My recovery from the surgery was actually quite smooth consider the trauma my face had suffered. I had no internal "packing" in my nose, just a plastic splint thing over it, and gauze taped underneath for the first couple days while I was still bleeding. After a couple days, I was very swollen and had moderate bruising. Im not sure if this is due to my body being quick to heal, or if it is the mark of a great surgeon. Maybe a bit of both. After one week, we returned to the Dr's office to have my splint removed. My first thought when looking in the mirror? Oh my god. WHAT HAVE I DONE? My nose was extremely swollen, puffy and looked very short and upturned, like a pig. They assured me that this would change as the swelling decreases dramatically and the tip of the nose does drop with time.

1 week later and still no change... I cried every day thinking I looked hideous! I mean, I'm an attractive girl and my nose looked fine before, why did I ruin myself? There's no going back. I was devastated. But my mom kept reassuring me, remember what the doctor said, it will go down.

Sure enough, by 2-3 weeks post surgery, I had an amazing looking nose. The bridge is perfect and the tip is nicely rounded with a slight, feminine upturn. It has now been 3 months post surgery and I couldn't be happier with the job that was done. Honestly my friends and family who I didn't tell about the surgery, haven't even noticed a difference! And that was what I wanted, to have people look at me and just think wow she looks great! Not oh wow did she get a nose job?

I still have some bad days, where i wake up in the morning looking puffier than usual, but apparently that is normal. It can take up to a year to see the full results they say! I would encourage anyone who is unhappy with the result at first to just keep positive because trust me, it does get better!

All in all, Dr. Solomon did an amazing job on my Rhinoplasty, and Im actually very surprised to see these negative reviews below. I never felt rushed with him, and I truly felt that he did care about my outcome and did want me to look my best. Just make sure you are very very clear about what it is that you want done. Its YOUR nose after all, not his. Be firm and clear with your desires. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who wants to have this surgery.
