Two weeks Post-Op

It's been two full weeks since my tummy tuck and breast augmentation. My drains were FINALLY removed last night and I'm so happy that they are out. I feel so much freer and loser since they are gone.

The plastic surgeon was pleased with my progress. She was very happy with my breasts, that they had fallen perfectly already, had softened right up and looked great (which I agree with!). She took my compression garment off and was pleased with how everything looked. She removed the drains. Pulling the drains didn't hurt, but clipping the stitches hurt and once the drains were out it stung like crazy! Then she went on to pull off all the steri-strips and clipped the rest of the stitches (which also stung like crazy, especially the ones under my breasts!). She told me to keep wearing the compression garment too.

I have to go back tomorrow (Thursday) for another follow up.

I also switched to a spanx garment for wearing around the house, just so I can wash the CG (wearing it for 2 weeks straight it needs a good wash)

Then I came home for my first shower in 2 weeks, which wasn't as wonderful as I thought. Taking my CG off for more than 5 minutes was weird feeling and made me nervous in the shower!

Everyday keeps getting better and better, but I have a good day and do too much, then have a low day (like today!)

I'm thrilled with my new breasts...I still think I'm a little disappointed with my tummy, but I'm sure it will get better eventually! When I look at my before's I know it's 100% improved, but I had really high expectations too, I think!

I also have about 10 pounds to lose (a trip to Mexico a week before surgery kinda sabotaged my weight loss!)

Overall, everything is good! This surgery has definitely brought my husband and I closer (and that alone is worth everything I've gone through). He's always been amazing and I've always loved him, but watching him take care of everything, hearing him compliment, support and encourage me and the love he's expressed (he's not an overly expressive or emotional person) just fills my heart to overflowing right now!

Is it possible to pop an internal stitch?

Oh boy, I think I have popped one of my internal muscle repair stitches and I'm a little concerned.

As I was trying to get into bed last night, I was laying down and kind of twisted a weird way all at the same time. I had this searing pain in my upper abdomen (just above and to the right of my new belly button.). It was about 40 seconds of pain before I could catch my breath and then it subsided. I situated myself in bed and got comfortable and about 5 minutes later, I felt this little 'pop' right where the pain was.

I know my PS uses dissolvable stitches, but it seems too early for them to be dissolving on their own,

Unfortunately, she's not available until Tuesday, so I can't even call to ask.

I'm not sore this morning (no more than usual or no more than any other part on my tummy), there's been no more burning pain...but I'm worried I have really messed something up.

I'm also dealing with a little constipation and bloating today. I was SO uncomfortable in bed last night I actually had to sleep with my CG loosened!

I was hoping things would be getting easier by now, not worse!

Spending the day in bed or on the couch today, nothing strenuous at all (except maybe washing my hair!)

I hope I turn a corner soon!

My 'love/hate' relationship with my Compression Garment

I hate this F-ing thing...yet u know right now I couldn't survive an hour without wearing it.

I know it keeps me pulled in nice and tight after all the work I've had done, yet it's so tight (especially at the end of the day, after I've eaten and haven't had a BM in 3 days) and uncomfortable.

I removed my Compression Garment (a VERY tight 4" elastic top, with a more generous bottom around my hips/butt and an awfully annoying Velcro crotch strap) today for the first time and it was HEAVEN having it off, yet after 10 minutes I got sore, then I got worried about moving around or sitting down without it on. It took both me and my hubby to do this thing back up and I cursed the whole time!

Now I'm back to hating it again...it's tight, itchy, chaffing my girly bits, pulling down and bruising my hips, pulling on the drains every time I move, jabbing up into the incisions under my breast and generally making me grumpy...yet I know I couldn't live without it right now.

Grrrr...how am I going to last another 5 weeks in this thing? There has to be another way...or another more comfortable option out there!
