WORTH IT
I originally saw Dr Wanzel 10 years ago. After having two kids (the first one being almost 11 pounds!) my body was just not the same. I knew it needed some help! Lol. From the moment I walked into Dr Wanzel's office I felt comfortable. His assistant Helen always greets you with a smile and makes you feel at ease. When I went for my consultation Dr Wanzel was extremely professional and answered all my questions. He gave me a gown to change into, left the room and then returned to take a look. For some women this can be extremely awkward so doing it this way, rather than just having the patient remove their clothing in front of the Doctor (which by the way some doctors do) felt so much more professional and comfortable. After that consultation, I booked my surgery on the spot. A tummy tuck and then had the breast augmentation on a later date. Needless to say I was extremely pleased with the results!! I had my body back! but most importantly I had my confidence back. I was so pleased with my results that I referred Dr Wanzel to my sister and a friend. They both had a breast augmentation (and my sis a tummy tuck as well) and were thrilled with the results. That's 3 for 3! They couldn't say enough about the whole process and how skilled and professional Dr Wanzel was. Now 10 years later I have decided to have my implants removed with a lift. Nothing was wrong with them (in fact even my family doctor commented on how natural and amazing they looked) it was just time for me ...I wanted to be smaller and "au natural" lol. What I like about Dr Wanzel is that he is genuine and honest and will not do anything he is not 100 percent comfortable with. Some doctors will say "sure I can do that if you want," where Dr Wanzel would say "you couldn't convince me to do that". He truly does what is in your best interest. I am now 5 days post op and I have to say once again Dr Wanzel hit it out of the park. The day of surgery he greeted me with a smile and immediately made me feel at ease. The hospital staff at St Joseph's were amazing as well. Dr Wanzel is so incredibly humble and would never ask for a review so I have made it a priorty to write this review so that people know just how incredibly talented and amazing he is. You can tell he takes pride in what he does - he wants what you want and that's great results! Other offices will often ask their patients to write a review so it bumps up their "ratings" while Dr Wanzel cares more about the patient and the results than his ego. I feel that says a lot about the type of person he is. If you want a highly skilled and genuine surgeon call Dr Wanzel. :)

Welcome to the community and thanks so much for offering your opinion of your doctor.

It would be great if you could give us a little more detail about your experience, like why you had the surgery, your tips for getting good results, pros/cons, and info on the recovery process.

Our community members especially love seeing photos from before, during, and after — a realistic look at what they can expect. Photos grab the attention of the community and encourage more support for you.

As a community manager, I get requests all the time from other members who want me to to keep encouraging people to share their experiences, which are so helpful for others considering these procedures. So please accept this as a well-intentioned request from thousands.

I am glad to read this. I am currently waiting for my consult to remove mine and have a lift. I have been a little worried from the mixed reviews about having the 2 procedures performed together. Did you have to have the capsule removed?

Congratulations on getting the results you were hoping for with your breast lift. Can I ask what type of lift the doctor performed?

Hi!
It was a breast lift with a lollipop incision. I am now 6 days post op and the healing is going really well. Hardly any bruising and I have been off pain killers for a couple days now. I really like my smaller breasts and the fact that they now "sit" where they are supposed to :)

Hi! I'm glad my post helped you. I read these posts before my operation and it helped me as well. It's nice to know there are others going through a similar experience. I had no problem with the two procedures being done at the same time. Some doctors will advise you to wait and "see" if your breasts go "back" but I knew mine wouldn't because of the way they were even before the breast augmentation. Not to mention I didn't want to do two separate procedures. I also asked about the capsule being removed and my doctor said that it didn't need to be as my implants were completely intact and in fact, after the Surgery He reassured me that all looked ok in there and that the implants were in amazing condition. If there was some sort of rupture etc then he may have removed the capsule but there wasn't. From what i understand (getting two opinions) I believe removing the capsule ("en bloc" I believe it's also called) increases risks so most doctors will not do it unless absolutely necessary. Hope this has helped :)
