I've been reviewing this site and Reddit for a while and a month ago started to try Latisse. Unfortunately, I haven't seen many reviews from Asian Latisse users, so I decided to add to the archive with my progress. It's only been four weeks, so I have yet to see a lot of the lengthening that was promised with the product. It HAS only been four weeks, so I'm not expecting much as of yet (apparently it can take up to 8 weeks to see the slightest bit of change). What I did notice these past four weeks was a lot of tiny lashes coming in. My lashes have more volume now.

I was concerned about a couple of downsides for Latisse: hallowing of eyes, redness around the eyes, dark pigmentation, and discoloration. I wasn't entirely too concerned about the discoloration of the eye since my natural eye colour is brown anyway, however, the hallowing of eyes was a concern. After cruising through Reddit, I found a couple of remedies that I employed immediately: I purchased an eyeliner brush (I use the liner brush from Tarte as it is double ended and has a bent tip), bought a little clear travel pot to drop the serum into, and bought the Tweezerman lighted close up mirror so that I could apply with greater precision. I tried dropping it into the lid prior to purchasing a travel pot, H=however, I disliked not being able to tell if I had used everything. The best tip that I was given was to use only half a drop rather than a full drop. If you use too much Latisse, you risk getting it into your eye and losing the pre-orbital fat around it. I try to limit the amount to half a drop which covers both eyes nicely.

This is my routine that I find works best and minimizes the hallowed eyes or red eyes:
1. Put half a drop into either the cap or a small plastic travel pot
2. Use a small eyeliner brush to brush onto the lid (LID ONLY, never put it on the waterline or else you definitely will get hallowed eyes)
3. Wait for the layer to dry and add any more leftover product onto the lash line again (I usually don't have any leftover)
I get pretty tired and start yawning at about 9-10pm, so I make sure to have the product applied by about 7:30 pm to avoid dilution of the product. I'll upload some more pictures at the 8, 12, and 16 week mark. The 16 week mark will be my overall feelings on the product.

8 Week Update

crunchywaffles
At 8 weeks, I have seen an increase in length, but not as dramatic as other users on this site. Looking at Reddit, this might simply be due to Asian genetics, but who knows. My lashes have gotten darker, and I noticed even more little hairs start to pop up which is very encouraging! My lashes still look rather whispy, which is disheartening, but it's only been 8 weeks. For those who don't know, this is what Latisse says is the typical growth progression for Latisse users:

Week 4: May begin to see length
Week 8: Most start to see fullness and darkness
Week 12: Most see enhanced results
Week 16: Full, dramatic results.

Clinical trial results showed lashes were:
25% longer (2% for vehicle)
106% fuller (12% for vehicle)
18% darker (3% for vehicle)
My lashes are definitely fuller and darker. So excited to see my progress at week 12!

I can see the difference between this picture and your 4 week picture. Looks darker, fuller and a tad bit longer. Please keep updating us on your progress. I'm also Asian (1/2 Korean) and just started using Latisse last week.

For sure! I am currently 2 weeks away from my 12 weeks and definitely have noticed a lot more changes. I'm still hoping for it to darken and thicken more, but I have two more months before I'm at my final 16-week progress.

Have you noticed any yellowing of the whites on your eyes?

I have not seen any yellowing, however I make sure to apply only a really thin layer so that none of the product gets into my eyes.

12 Week Update

crunchywaffles
Minor increase in length, but the lengthening effect has pretty much slowed down since the 8-week check-in. I'm hopeful that they'll grow a little more by the 16-week mark, but I won't be heartbroken if it doesn't grow much beyond that. Two things that definitely happened between the 8-week and 12-week check-in was the difference in volume and the darkening of lashes. My lashes have definitely gotten darker from the last time I checked in, and there definitely is a lot more volume. Unfortunately, my phone camera doesn't really show the full effect from week 8 to week 12 but trust me, it's there. Based on my previous photos, there still isn't any evidence of pre-orbital fat loss, which is great. It definitely pays to be careful about it.

Some downsides that I have spotted thus far: some of the skin around my eyes has gotten a bit redder. Granted, it's harder to notice because I naturally have darker skin as an Asian but if you look closely at the side view you can tell that there is redness there. I have also found my eyes to get very dry at night, so when I wake up in the morning it feels like I'm trying to open velcro. These are fairly minor however, so I feel like the benefits of this treatment outweigh the negatives.
