29 Asian Transwoman Upper Lip Lift with Dr Tong - Toronto, ON

I booked my consultation a month before. it was...

i booked my consultation a month before. it was pretty quick to book the appointment. they asked you upfront to pay for the consultation fee. i had no problem with it because i know i will do the surgery anyway. so i had my consulatation friday june 3rd 2016. dr tong was very thorough. he told me about complications and he asked me about my expectations and what was my end goal. so i told him that the distance between my nose and upper lip is very long. he measured it to be 23mm or 2.3cm. i told him to go aggressively. he said he will take off 1cm or 10mm. but i think i will ask him to take off 12mm cuz from what ive read in other girls who has done the procedure, that it does stretches out a bit. o when it does stretch out 2mm i will have 10mm left... and the average distance for female is 11mm to 13mm. and this was my end goal... a more feminine lips. after i was done with my consultation, i was handed over to the manager who handles scheduling and cost. she gave me a quote and she worked her magic to fit me in for june 16 2016. they were very busy and full but she managed to squeeze me in cuz i told her i have a pride party to go to on july 3rd. thank you miss jean :) anyway.... ill update after my surgery

Right after surgery

Ok the surgery is done... Dr tong took off 10mm or 1cm... I asked him to take off 13nm but he said it won't look right... So I said ok to 10mm and I'm swollen right now but I know it will look good... I look like a rabbit right now but that's to be expected

This is when I got home and different angle

When I got home... I'm in pain... Tolerable pain but it hurts...

Right before and just right after...

:) in pain lol

15 hours after the surgery

I woke up and no pain at all... I'm heading to work today with a mask on... We wear mask at work anyway... I'm a dental assistant... Been drinking drinkable yogurt since last night I was able to brush my teeth this morning cuz I feel no pain... I cleaned the area with peroxide as per doctor said and I out Vaseline after as per doctor said...

Day 2 post op

Still swollen... Very tight and swelling went down I think but still swollen...

3rd day

A lot of redness around the incisions... No pain... Swelling is still there but it's going down slowly but surely

5th day post op

Incisions are red... Specially where the sutures are... Tomorrow I get the sutures remove...

6th day stitches removed

Stitches removed... Still red and bumpy but doctor said it will subside...

8th day post op

I don't think it's swollen anymore... I love the result already hopefully it won't stretch... That's what I'm afraid of... But when The dr took the stitches out he said measured the light to 1cm meaning he took more than 1cm but who knows

2 weeks in

Scar is still visible but I'm able to put make up on but scar gets really dry

Before and after

Before and 2 weeks post

Almost one month post op

Everything seems to be ok but the disolvable sutures I can still see I had cut them because they were sticking out... And on my left nostril I seem to have pimples growing... First it was the right nostril but now it's gone... I attached a picture one month post op with make up on

One month and a half

Everything has healed... The scar is there but nothing a make up can't covered

One month and 15 days

It's healed properly can still see the scar but I can put make up on it

Almost 2 months

Almost 2 months and scar is there but I cover it up with make uo

2 months and 10 days

2 months 10 days... I think it's pretty much healed... It's not tight anymore around where the stitches were... But scar is definitely there...

Update

3 months

4th month now I think

Scar is gone! Tightness is gone... I haven't measured it but I'm sure it stretched a bit but it looks good still...
Toronto Plastic Surgeon

consultation - he was very nice and very thorough... no upselling of any kind... he will ask you what your end goal and what you are expecting... and he will tell you what is best for you. I am very pleased with dr. Tong and his whole staff... Everything was just outstanding... When I came in for the surgery... I was a bit early but they took me in right away... Dr. Tong answered all my questions and granted all my request... Even though my surgery isn't as big as a face lift... He knew exactly what he is doing... I asked him to remove more than 1cm of skin and he said that it won't look right and he is right... If he had removed more than 1cm of skin I don't think the result will be the same... I'm very happy with my result... And I'll be coming back for my Asian rhinoplasty with him... Thank you dr. Tong I'll see you guys very soon...
