$3,200
I am paying a total of CDN $4000 (i.e. USD $3200) for 10 sessions of:
Half-Face (Chin, Upper Lip, Sideburns)
Underarms
Full-arms
Full-legs
Brazilian

So far I've had 1 session yesterday using the Cool-Glide laser. I'll post updates overtime. Can someone please let me know whether the cost of getting these procedures is worth it? Is the amount I'm spending reasonable?

My History:
2010-2011: I had 12 sessions of underarm hair removal using 'laser'. It was a Groupon deal from Divine Therapy. Place is now shut down. It was rip off (15% reduction in hair). Total cost: $300

2012-2013: I had 10 sessions of underarm, brazilian and full legs using IPL. It was a promo package at Trade Secrets. One year later after my last session at this location, my underarm and brazilian I'm not fully satisfied, the hair is less coarse but still prominent (30% reduction) enough that I have to shave if I go swimming. For full-legs and inner thighs, there are a few patches and some very fine hair elsewhere (70% reduction); yes I'd shave if I'm going swimming but I won't mind going to the gym without shaving. Total cost: $500

2014: I had 5 sessions of chin and upper lip area using Cool-Glide laser at New Derma. Although effective, hair still grew back 1 month after my last session. Fine hair and some strands on upper lip and on the chin and a bit under (50% reduction). If someone gets very close to me, they'd be able to see. And if I stroke my jawline, chin area yes I can feel a few coarse hairs. Total cost: $300

Bellair has actual nurses performing the laser treatments. My nurse Jackie was so sweet and took the time to carefully show how much of the sideburn I wanted to target, and spent extra time to make sure all areas were covered. Prior to this Bellair, I've had 5 sessions of cool-glide laser done at another clinic called NewDerma and still had some strands of hair had grown back. So Jackie recommended I start SheerLight laser for my 2nd session at her clinic and I look forward to seeing how it will be.

Hi , You mentioned the cool glide laser and an IPL. Jackie mentioned the sheer light laser. Are these the newest and the best? Also I was going to use a groupon that offered a very low price and now I'm scared. Did you have any bad side effects beside the lack of results? Also why is the price so high, is it the number of areas you are treating. My last question is this with a doctor or at a salon thanks Andrea Russo

Hi Andrea, At Divine Therapy Spa (Groupon), it was my first time with laser (IPL) and I didn't know much. I wasn't getting any satisfactory results and let the technician know a bit later on. I believe they were using very low settings the first few times, so I had to purcahse an extra 6-sessions (after I used up all 6 sessions given with Groupon) but it simply wasn't working for me. So in hopes of having better results, this nice newer younger technician did multiple shots in the same location out of sympathy, and I got burn scabs during the last couple sessions with the new tech ...but these burns disappeared within a month or two. The $4000 I mentioned above is for Cool-Glide and Sheer-Light lasers at Bellair Laser Clinic in Toronto. Cool Glide and Sheer Light are the gold standard laser technologies in the industry (as well as Soprano Duet) and thus so expensive. Also, these sessions are being performed by actual nurses, hence the higher expense. Bellair is owned by two doctors though. I found another location that will give me everything that Bellair is offering + more for $2500 (for Soprano Duet Laser). Unfortunately, I've already paid Bellair and don't know if I can get my money back for the remainder of the package.

I had 6 treatments of laser hair removal about 4 years ago to my bikini line (not Brazilian) and underarms. I paid $1200. Not sure what the specific machine was but a gel was applied to my skin and they moved the wand over my skin. It hurt a lot. However, 4 years later, I still only get the same 5 hairs growing under one arm - they probably missed a spot. My bikini line did start coming back but not to the extent that it was before. I was also told that certain areas of the body are more hormonal and hair may continue to grow, so I wasn't surprised. I'm now getting a full Brazilian with 6 treatments from a Diode machine (have only completed 1 treatment so far) and it is less painful. I have very fair skin so it should be successful. I don't expect everything gone but a 80-90% reduction would be wonderful.
