Waste of Money .. Do the gastric Sleeve better

User Avatar

$4,600
Gained all my weight back shortly after the balloon was removed. My fault, the Doctor kept telling me to get the Gastric sleeve at the time. I didn't listen. 1 Year later i got the gastric sleeve. OMG best decision ever and i just paid 3,950! I went from 216 to 150 pounds. It's been over 1year and I'm still 150!
**DONT DO THE ORBERA BALLOON YOU WANT LONG LASTING RESULTS FOR THE SAME PRICE DO THE GASTRIC SLEEVE. I'M SO MUCH HEALTHIER

Orbera balloon removed.

User Avatar

I'm all done with my Orbera balloon YAY I removed it yesterday 5-13-19. I had it in for 6 1/2 months. I lost a total of 25 pounds. Hardest part was at the beginning. Everything else was not so bad besides the nasty burps and gas. Removal went ok. I think they scraped my throat, I have redness in two areas and its super sensitive hard to swallow. After removal my stomach felt 100%. I had to stay on liquids that day because of my throat. Today (day later) I ate some chicken and rice. Throat is much better but still a bit sore. I will keep doing my diets. I have much more weight to go.

I really enjoyed your journey and found it very helpful...Thank you! Now that it has been several months from removal...How are you doing?

Hello, looking into getting it done, how are you doing now? maintaining the weight? Is it worth it?

Honestly not worth the money. I regret not getting the sleeve like the Doctor insisted on.
No, I'm back to the same. I've always had trouble dieting. Maybe its my life style not ready to give it up.

@terrific656519 if you look at the % of results
Sleeve is at 99%
depending on the balloon its 29% to 69%
Its pretty much the same money. I would of loved for someone to tell me before spending all that money.(besides the Doc) Just saying. Good luck

I want to schedule the removal mid-May. I heard you could keep it in up to 7 mos. Cant wait!
I feel normal. I have NOT lost what I expected with the balloon. I though it would be easier to say no to food or get full faster. That's a NOPE for me. The first 15 pounds where easy because I was feeling sick. As for me its been a waist for money. I heard this pretty often on other sites too. Maybe I'm that percent who only lose 20-25 pounds. I don't know. Going to keep trying before the removal. See what's my end weight

Thanks! I will continue trying. (story of my life) It was just way to much money for what it is. I could of just paid a trainer or food prep person for almost 5000! Hope to report at least another 10 pounds. Hitting it strong this last month.
