In January of 2015 my job switched insurance...

In January of 2015 my job switched insurance companies, from Aetna to Cigna, and I was so excited because our previous insurance didn't cover bariatric surgery and I couldn't afford the cash cost on my wage. I went to true results and after speaking with them they said my new insurance does cover the bariatric surgery, but that I need to see a therapist, a nutritionist, and also have a condition in which my weight was a contributing factor. That we would need to prove to them that losing weight would help this condition, and that I'm a good candidate for the bariatric surgery. After months of therapy, and visits with the nutritionist I was ultimately denied coverage for the surgery. I was reluctant, I needed help, and I was sure I wouldn't be able to do it on my own after years of failed diets and weight loss attempts. I began searching online again to go out of the country to cut costs and found on my facebook page that a distant friend of mine was coming back from Mexico and she'd had the vertical sleeve on Tijuana. I messaged her & asked a million questions! I also got contact information for a lady named Maria. Maria gave me the doctor's name and the facility where i would have the procedure and I googled Dr. Mauricio Gutierrez and his facility, Trinity medical, relentlessly. You know you become a little obsessed with looking these things up when you make your mind up that you want it, I was no different. I found very little about him online, but my friend was having great results. So I kept in contact with Maria over a few months, saved some money and eventually decided to go. I have never spent a better $4,000 in my life. The doctor was very nice, and thorough. I flew into to San Diego on Tuesday evening, was in surgery within a few hours of my arrival, and was up and moving around by Thursday morning. I did pay for my own plane ticket, which was around $350, plus my medicine when I left the clinic. Everything else was covered. I joined realself because I'm now looking into getting a tummy tuck and fat transfer, but noticed there still isn't much info on Dr. Gutierrez online. I just want others to know that going to Mexico scared the crap outta me, but I was in a clean hospital, with great nurses, and great doctors. I have 2 friends that went after me, both with amazing results. I have been in contact with Maria again looking to have the plastic surgery done very soon. I will post before & after pics up until now, before I have the tummy tuck and butt lift.

Dr. Gutierrez was very professional, and very thorough. He answered all of my questions before surgery and after. I wouldn't change anything about my decision to go to Mexico, Dr. Gutierrez did an amazing job!
