I am very pleased with my transplant done by Dr. Gabriela Hernandez. Going to Mexico can be intimidating at the beginning, but spent some time on the phone with her assistants, who picked me up from the airport and took me back and forth from a very nice hotel three blocks from the clinic.
Payment is up front, and of course not covered by insurance, the clinic is nice, busy at times as it is shared with a very nice dentist I ended going to (Dr. Lugo), but definitely better than I expected.
Regarding the transplant, Dr. was very punctual and professional, at 7 AM she picked me up from the hotel, spent about one hour explaining me the procedure, reviewing my donor zone, marking the area to transplant, and going through the details.
Transplant had a whole team assembled to cut, select and process the grafts, lasted at least 7 hours, and I felt no discomfort at any time.
I was discharged with prescribed painkillers (just in case) and a nice lunch.
You have to be realistic, I didn't get the amount of hair I had when I was 18, but at 42 it was very nice to see my scalp covered, and now, at 51 most of the hair (70-80%) is still there (as the follicles from the back are more resistant)
You have to be realistic with the procedure, hair falls after the second week, and starts coming back in the months 6 to 9. No issues with the doctor and the treatment. Actually I liked her professionalism and her hard work.
