Chin Liposuction and Buccal Fat Removal in TJ
ORIGINAL POST
Hi everyone, It's been awhile since I posted. I...

Hi everyone,
It's been awhile since I posted. I just had my latest procedure and so far, so good. I'm holding out final judgment until the 90-day mark to give my face complete time to heal.
I've always had a fuller face w/ full cheeks and a hereditary "fat" chin. I looked into all kinds of options and decided that removing some buccal fat along with lipo to the chin was the way to go. I did a ton of research and decided to go with Dr. Omar Lazos in TJ. The price was right and his results have been good. However, I am not a newbie to the ps game...veteran and don't have unrealistic expectations. I will be 52 in just about 10 days so I have different expectations that someone much younger. What I am really looking for is a slimmer more defined jaw and chin w/ a slimmer overall profile.
I went to TJ by myself and it couldn't have been easier. Stayed on the San Diego side in San Ysidro for 2 days then just simply walked across the border into TJ. I am a SENTRI card holder which makes crossing back and forth across the border a BREEZE. Best $100 I ever spent. I took a short taxi ride right to the doctor's office and VOILA, I was back on the US side about 60 minutes later. Please don't be scared of going into TJ, especially during the day. Everyone was so nice. I'm also from Chicago, so maybe urban cities just don't bother me.
Once I got to Doctor Lazos's office, he and his assistants explained everything to me from start to finish. He took many pictures first and was honest about expectations. Because of my chin fat, I may not get the sharpness I desire, so he went VERY conservative in that area to have the maximum contraction. That was smart because I know already that I may have to have Kybella to shrink down my pocket fat under the chin 6 months from now to get a more defined look...again, I'm very realistic about my expectations and have done my research.
He loaded me up with local anesthesia (I needed more than normal because I have a lower tolerance for pain), and fist he removed my buccal fat and then worked on my chin. I did not feel a thing, just pulling which feels funny but no pain. Afterwards, he gave me all my meds and a compression garment which is to be worn 24/7 for at least the first 7 days. No exercise for at least a week, and a bland diet for the first 24 hours. I went back to the hotel and slept. I was worn out. Swelling came as the day wore on and man does your face swell. It's so uncomfortable but the garment just makes it feel better and really does help. He warned me that the worse swelling happens within the first 3-4 days and will get better after that. Final results will not be complete until 90 days. I will post pictures when I get a chance!

Adding some pics
Happy New Year!
Here are a few pics taken 1-2 days after the surgery. This is some of the maximum swelling in my cheeks and neck. Today I feel much better. Still wearing my garment while I'm indoors, but cannot tolerate sleeping in it like I'm supposed to. :( Going for my first lymphatic massage on Wed. NOt only do those massages feel great, they really help move the fluid out of your body. Will update at the 7 day mark.

May I ask how the consultation was carried out? I would've traveling from Philadelphia. Was considering doc in Plano tX but his prices have increased. Excellent work and still may consider him. Just want this fat gone!

I went through a consultant who owns a recovery home in TJ. She posted the special on her social media site and I communicated with her and asked a TON of questions. I saw his work and knew that I wanted to work with this doc.
I sent a deposit via Paypal and secured my date. Then I just made payments along the way until I was fully paid up. I didn't have to worry about taking cash money with me across the border, etc. It was a totally smooth process.
I had several consultations here in the states and the prices were just so high.....I'd rather save that kind of money when I am ready to get a tummy tuck...LOL.
So far, I am impressed with my recovery. Very little pain and every day the swelling goes down. Going for my second massage today and that makes me feel even better.
You can always just email. Dr. Lazos too. He gets right back to you. :)

I didn't know you needed to do lymphatic massages for chin lipo. Good to know.

Thank you for the helpful details in your story! So helpful! When you say you went in for a lymphatic massage... do you mean once you were home, in your town? I'm unfamiliar with a lymphatic massage, where on your body did they focus? Do you believe it was very helpful?

Ahhhh...the miracle of massage!!!!
Hi everyone!
I'm exactly 7 days post op and I feel great. I've been a good girl and have been wearing my compression garment...except at night. I just can't tolerate it. I also spoke with my doc last night to update him on my status and to tell him that I was starting lymphatic massage today. He agreed and told me I can switch to only wearing my garment 5 hours per day for another few days.
I went for my massage today and if you ladies haven't had a lymphatic massage, I tell you they are heaven and really help reduce pain and swelling after surgery. My therapist is so gentle, yet firm. She pushed all my swelling out and afterward (it lasts about 50 minutes), I peed out so much fluid! The proof is in the pudding however....take a look at how much slimmer my face looks. :)
My face is still a little tender; especially on my cheeks, but I have had absolutely zero bruising. Happy about that. I have another massage scheduled for Sunday. Ok, that's it for now. I'll continue to update when I start to see some more changes. This is a process and you have to be patient.

Hi, where are you getting your massages done?

January 7, 2018
Shen Shen in Lincoln Park and another therapist in Wicker Park. It’s important to find someone who is certified in manual lymphatic massage.
