I got the sleeve gastrectomy a little over a month...

$3,500
I got the sleeve gastrectomy a little over a month ago, and I have not had any noticeable weight loss. My appearance is the same, and even though I am not supposed to be as hungry as I was before (due to the supposedly smaller size of my stomach), I still feel hungry all day. I can even hear my stomach growling, so it is not all in my head! I can also still eat the same sized portions as I did before the surgery. The scars from the procedure are pretty horrible, too. There are four horizontal bright red gashes that don't look like they are going to fade anytime soon. I do not recommend this surgery.

Why get the surgery if you are eating the same way as far as portions? I had the surgery last month8/16 and am down 33lbs, I'm still following the aftercare diet instructions!! The weight doesn't fall off over night like we didn't gain it all that way although it felt like it! Keep focused you've come this far give keep going you'll see it will be worth it! Our minds can play tricks on us too, but I agree about the hunger and loud stomach noises. Keep it up don't quit you've got past 1/2 the battle going through with the surgery. Keep going and keep moving.
Are you otherwise in good health? Which surgeon did you use?
Sorry to hear. Try sticking to the pre op diet. That might help. I felt the same way when I had surgery (December 14, 2018) I felt hungry by day 3 when I was out of the hospital and off the pain drugs. I too wonder if he cut out enough stomach. Today I know he did. Just try and stick to the diet and try get some walking or exercise in it will help kick start. Try not to eat any solid. If you do eat no fat stuff like can tuna and crackers. I take a bit and leave then go back later for another bite. That way I slow down my eating. It’s so hard to chew for a long time I don’t know how others do it. Good luck
I drink a lot of tea instead of food for the 1st month. Hope that helps.
Sorry just noticed it was 2017. How are you now?
