Oy, with this upload.

The pics self deleted - again! If this time doesn't work, I'm out you guys.

Overdue pics

My apologies for disappearing. The one or two times I tried to upload, RS wasn't having it and that was that. Here they finally are. Sorry if they're the wrong way or out of order. It was totally worth it but I had some (existing) scar tissue that he said made it difficult to be as aggressive as he would've liked in one surgery. Andplusalso the back folds, I hate em, long story short I'm gonna have the rest of the flab sucked out and a back lift next year. I talked to Nadia in Pantoja's office today as well. The quotes are within $100 of each other and Dr. Campos already knows his work, so next bonus check it is.

Club Med (name changed to Our Friend's House)

This is why I wish we could edit these posts. Upthread, I'd said that my worry in advance about Club Med was how many people/beds there were going to be in one room. I think my exact quote was "that's a gang of beds" - well the truth is the video is accurate, it's me who wasn't. There weren't 7 beds in that room, there were 3 and an extra bed that's dedicated for massages. There really aren't words sufficient enough for me to describe Club Med without sounding like I'm either gushing or a paid endorsement. But be assured this is neither.

I arrived at San Diego International on the morning of March 24th. By the time I got to baggage claim, Marvin had already emailed me to say he was already there (my flight landed early), just come out to curbside and look for the purple marker which tells you your exact terminal and door location and describe yourself so I know who to look for then text me with all that info. Did so. He pulled up about 2.5 minutes later. Good dude. Funny, talkative, amiable and friendly. Really knowledgeable about the different docs in the area and Tijuana in general. I had an appt with the dentist who used to be in the office directly across the hall from Campos. I mentioned it to Marvin before arriving but forgot to remind him when I got into the car. I remembered about 20 minutes later - the reason that's significant is that Club Med is about 35 minutes out from the airport so we were within short distance of arriving at the recovery house. He didn't even mention that. Instead, without a word of complaint, he drove me back towards Campos' building to see my dentist. The dentist isn't located there anymore but it was a good opportunity to stop into Campos' office and fill out my paperwork.

Back to Club Med. I walk in and there's the view we've all seen on the website. The pictures of this house don't actually do it justice. When you come through the door, there's a huge plate glass window looking at an entire span of nothing but the Pacific Ocean. You're at peace whether you like it or not. Lol. I put my bags down and Susana, chief cook, bottle washer, substitute mom and queen of everything basically, greeted me, showed me around and asked if I'd like anything to eat. I didn't but I couldn't wind down enough to nap. I think I asked her for something snacky like popcorn. Later in the day she drove me to this cute little restaurant where we had zeee most delicious fish tacos. We got back to the house and I was suddenly so tired so I laid down for a bit. Susana is super vigilant about eating schedules. I don't mean that you have to eat on schedule, you can eat whenever you want, I mean she pays strict attention to when you last ate and about the time you should be getting hungry again. Anyway around 7 or 7:30 she goes would you like a smoothie? Your pre op cut off is 8pm. I giggled, I'm the patient but she's the one paying attention to my meal cut off time. Had my 7:30 smoothie and tried to keep busy with my laptop and generally a whole bunch of nothing (for the next two days I was the only house resident).

Day of surgery, Marvin dropped me off at Campos' office and then it was pretty much lights out. I don't know how I got from Campos' office back into Marvin's car the next day but I must've because the next memory I have is waking up at Club Med.

The beds are hospital grade, they have electronic controls with which you can raise and lower your head, knees and/or feet. Which sounds completely inconsequential - UNTIL - you try to get up for the first time.

Susana and Marvin used to live in the states, where Susana practiced Nursing. I say that so you understand how valuable her knowledge is during your stay. She cooks every meal to order and with very simple ingredients, each dish is somehow fresh, delicious, perfectly prepared and compliant with post surgical dietary requirements. I remember saying to her Susana please remind me to take pictures before I eat, because I want to post how amazing this looks on RS. She did remind me but I was way too greedy to bother with the phone. She does laundry several times a day, keeps the floors and countertops immaculately clean and manages to be at your side when needed without hovering. It's really a neat trick, that. She does the day shift and she has help from the equally tireless Fabiola, who does part of the day shift with her and then the night shift. Between them, these ladies run this house like the recovery equivalent of Fort Knox. I want to see what else I can get chopped off just so I have an excuse to stay here again.

I was at Club Med for a total of 17 days, during which time I recovered from an extended tummy tuck, a breast lift, upper and lower back lipo, waist lipo, inner thigh lipo and a bbl. I was a newborn lol, I needed help with the 10 minutes it took me to walk to the bathroom (in my room). I couldn't take a shower alone (that's a plus) I mean I wouldn'tve wanted to try. There was one day I was feeling brand new and full of energy and ready to conquer the world and Susana was like ok slow your roll there Energizer Bunny, easy. I'd just finished taking a shower and told her I needed to sit down because I felt weird. Turns out weird is euphemism for losing consciousness lol. I plunked down on the closed toilet seat and went about the business of fainting. Susana wouldn't let me close my eyes and boy was I trying to lol. She was (literally) my pillar, she stood there fanning me while I leaned against her and together, she and Fabiola kept whiffing rubbing alcohol past my nose while they opened the door and let fresh air in. They tell me it took about a half hour for things to get back to normal (for me to look at either of them in recognition) but long story short, it's nice to have a nurse in your corner.

I'm sure you can read this on their site but included in Club Med's services is transportation to and from the airport, transportation to each of your dr.'s visits; At some point I missed doing girl things so Susana took me to get my eyelashes plastered on. On the route back from Campos' office there's a shopping mall - I put this information to good use while I was able lol! I'm sorry this is so long and it's not meant to be a lecture, I just really want to express how important to my recovery the care I received at Club Med was. Despite being called several times a day, every day and asking for meals that weren't necessarily on that day's menu, Susana and Fabiola never exhibited signs of fatigue, impatience, frustration, nor disgust (I mention this because they're also helping you get in and out of your faja in each possible stage of your body's transition). I couldn't perform the simplest of functions without Susana and Fabi's help and I wouldn't want to know what it looked like had I tried. You'll "save" about $35 a day if you go to a hotel, which doesn't include 5 meals a day, transport, visits or hotel tax or any physical help. Do your body a favor. Club Med.
