Face was actually doing ok but neck had started to go. I've been to Dr Jaime Caloca before and have such confidence in the guy that there was no question I would go to him. Still as the date approached I was very nervous, I would swing between excitement and total fear.
I could write this whole review about Dr Jaime Caloca (TJ Mexico) as he is beyond excellent. Many of my friends have also used him every time with amazing results.
Going to Mexico may seem scary so let me review the whole experience.
I parked on the US (Border Parking - 24 hours security, no worries about your car), walked over jumped in a cab as was there within 20 minutes of parking.
There is no language barrier at all - this is not even a concern
I met with the anesthesiologist, super nice guy, explained all that he did and put me very much at ease.
Met with Dr Caloca to go over the procedure and any questions I might have.
The OR is right there and is the nicest one Ive ever been in (and Ive done the Beverly HIlls thing). Television on the ceiling with calming water scenes the watch as they prepare you .. this is a very nice touch.
Wake up in my private room with my own nurse. If anyone is with you there is room for them. The room is as bigger than most hotel rooms with bathroom, coach, tv etc .. again the best recovery room I've ever been in and I've done the recovery spa thing in BH.
I'm there until the next day (I had the option to stay longer) and then they drive me to my hotel (directly opposite the surgical center) where I stay for the next 5 days.
The Hotel Lucerna is fabulous (no language barrier), several restaurants, really a quite high end hotel. They are used to surgery patients staying there and will bring you anything you need. I had room service every day, watched HBO and several other movie channels, free wifi, complimentary fruit basket etc, really nice housekeepers who kept checking on me (which was really cute) My bill $611 :)
Dr Caloca does get a special rate so be sure they know.
The doctor checked in with me, they got me all my prescriptions ($60) also I should have mentioned the labs for your blood work are in the same building ($58)
Day one I had the usual minor panic "what have I done" although I looked fine and I know I just second guess myself. After that it was a breeze, I used Skype to call my family and friends, caught up on a lot of work and slept in every day. One black eye and a little bruising down the side of my neck.
6 days after the day of surgery the office picks me up and Dr Caloca takes the bandages off and removes some of the stitches, I cannot believe how good I look already. I was worried about scars but I can tell in a week or so I'll be golden.
they drive me back to the hotel (seriously its just across the street) where I shower and wash my hair (ahhh). A driver picks me up and drives me back to my car ($60). Parking for the 6 days ($56)
At the 3 week mark I go back to get the rest of the stitches out but I was out to dinner last night with my husband (post op day 7) I just wore my reading glasses as I have still have a little black eye. I bruise with everything I have ever done so I expected a lot worse. My friend had the same surgery with Dr Caloca and didnt have a bruise.
I also should have mentioned a nurse called my husband 3 times during the surgery to let him know I was ok
Going back to work (I have a very public job) on Day 13 but could go now except for the black eye.
As for the result - its already beyond fabulous and every day it just keeps getting better.
I have had a few surgeries and a couple with Dr Caloca but my experiences with Dr Caloca are by far the best, from the ease of blood work, to the OR room, the private room, the drivers and the total care I felt from everyone.
I'm a little surprised that Dr Caloca isn't mentioned on this website (google him and you'll find more reviews than you'll want to read)
You can transfer money or pay in cash. Everyone takes US Dollars.
Before I left I went to the bank and got a few hundred dollars in $5 and $10 notes so that I could tip everyone

Hi there,
I just had a facelift and neck lift ( and upper and lower eyelids!) 2 week ago. I love my neck lift but have concerns about facelift, it's seems like my nose fold and mouth folds still there. :( Did you had same experience? Will it get better? I know that you mentioned that you starting wearing your hair up at approximately at 6 months after the surgery.. So .. which means by that point your scars looking ok ? .. Thank you so much for sharing and your respond will be greatly appreciated!

Do you think asking for cash into his account was proper? Did he send you a financial contract first and also his revision policy if the procedure wasn't successful? I am trying to get this worked out and want to understand this better.

Amazing result ! One of my biggest concern was being able to wear my hair up. I can't even see my scars except a little behind the ear (but no one else can see unless very close uo).. I've been wearing my hair pulled back and up fromy about 2 months. Couldn't be happier :)

I had a facelift and necklift, fat transfer under eye and nasolabialfolds with Dr. Caloca . I had all the incisions in the hair but he did not do trichophytic closure on me so my scars in the hair are wide bald spots, I sent him a video on youtube how to do trichophytic closure to avoid bald spots in the hair last year because I am considering redoing the facelift because the nasolabial folds still exist and the bald spots in the hair, I still have hallowing under eye so his fat transfer was not very good. He is redoing it at a discounted rate.

Did you also get bald spots in the hair incisions? Is your facelift very pulled back? Do you have the nasolabialfold?

Did he do your incisions in the hair or in front of the hair? Do you have nasolabial folds ( the wrinkle that goes from your nose to your mouth) ?
