After carefully reviewing all available material, I decided to have the KAMRA inlay put into my non-dominant eye (right eye for me). From the get go it was a bad experience. The Dr. I believe (though not admitting it) caused an abrasion during surgery. First 4 weeks I had very blurry vision. It got a little better after abrasion healed, I could see very close up, but distance vision never got better. Now 4 months later, swelling has gotten worse, so I am having it removed next week. I pray my distance vision will return.

I also had the Kamra inlay in my left eye four months ago and everything outside of ten feet is blurry with that eye. Night driving is just about impossible due to the glare and intense halos from all light sources and the lack to judge distance when pulling out from a driveway. I was then prescribed glasses for night driving.

I went to Teplick myself for an evaluation and quote. The price was quite a bit higher than expected, so I decided to hold off. The office rep got pretty irritated with me when I was surprised by their cost (I had been quoted $3800 by another local office). That, coupled with it being such new technology, made me decide to hold off for now. Glad I did. Either way, I wouldn't go back to Teplick. $5000 is a chunk of change out of pocket, and for her to give me attitude when I said it was over my budget was rude.
So sorry to hear about your experience.

Something doesn't sound right here: since the Kamra Inlay is placed in one's non-dominant eye, and because it should in any case only affect your reading/near vision, my understanding is it should not have had any impact on your distance vision. I had my Kamra Inlay procedure about 4 years ago and did not experience anything like what you mentioned. So sorry for your trouble, and I hope things are better now!
