Ask for Months out B&a Photos

Ask for Months out B&a Photos

I was, hesitantly, persuaded/pressured to get threads at my routine filler appt. I seriously regret that decision for many reasons. It was over 3x the price of my usual fillers and it has been nothing but problems ever since.

I had only seen photos of the before and afters that were done immediately after/same day the threads were inserted. This is a problem because your face is swollen as soon as you get them done from all the, although not painful, very uncomfortable poking and ripping of a barbed thread through your skin. This will obviously make your face look fuller and more lifted from the tightness of the initial threads being put in. You are also in a protected environment which will only show you optimal results.

First few days:
- swollen but not terribly
- not painful
- puckering and threads protruding but they went away eventually
- appeared slightly lifted (I know not to expect surgical facelift results)
- tightness - you must be super gentle with your face so the threads stay (ie. reduce talking and smiling as much as possible, eat carefully, sleep on your back, don’t wear make up or rub face like during your normal skin care routine, etc.) which I did

***I am also pretty sure one of the threads popped (even though I followed the rules to a tee) because I heard and felt a pop and then felt an uneven distribution on my face. There was nothing my injector could do so there is one thread totally wasted

After a few weeks:

- zero results - my face looks exactly like it did before I got the threads put in. ONLY A FEW WEEKS did I see a very small almost insignificant lift. Supposedly, I should see the initial lifting from threads and as they dissolve they will create collagen that will help keep that lift in place. I see no changes whatsoever.

***Side note: I have no absolute proof this next issue is caused by misplaced threads but I can’t figure out what else could be causing it. I have had filler for years with no issue but since my threading my under eyes have continuously swelled to the point I had to cancel a work event (I travel for work) the day before I was supposed to fly out because my eyes were almost swollen shut. This has now been happening off and on almost weekly ever since I had threading done. I have had my injector look at it several times and she recommended steroids and having filler removed which I did and all that happened is my eyes continue to swell. I did research and if a thread is placed through the zygomatic ligament it appears to cause the same issue I am having but my injector says it’s not that, she also would probably not want to admit she misplaced the threads and caused me damage. It is very embarrassing and I am now wearing glasses constantly unless I am at work where I can’t wear glasses to attempt to hide the red swollen bags under my eyes. I am still dealing with this issue to this day with no answers from my injector and a huge hit to my self esteem and work as a model.

In conclusion, I paid over 3x as much as my filler would have cost for zero results and possible reoccurring, very noticeable swelling that caused me to lose out on work. I would tell anyone considering a thread lift to first of all, not do it at all and waste your time money and possible future appearance on it and, secondly, if you still consider doing it to ask for months after photos not same day before and after photos **and with the same view points and lighting as the first photos were taken** to really see what little to no difference it makes. I have a feeling most of these positive reviews are within days or weeks of getting them done but for the price it is not worth the maybe weeks of very minimal “lift” you get. Very very sad and disappointed to have such a terrible experience and hoping to figure out how to fix my face.

Please beware. There are so many scams to make us look young and beautiful that play on our insecurities and we need to start holding these injectors and companies accountable for false advertising and filtered/unrealistic photos. I blame myself for being pressured into getting something I did not want to get. I have had great success with fillers and Botox/dysport so I am not saying none of this stuff works but there are a lot of scams out there.
