PDO around lips - Continued problems
I haven't seen many reviews about PDO threads being used around the lip area. Would be good to hear from people. I still have a distortion under my lip which doesn't show when smiling or talking but when my face is at rest it is quite noticeable. I was hoping as time passed the collagen produced by the threads would flatten down but it seems to be acting more like scar tissue. Also puckering under bottom lip one side has never gone away. I would strongly advise not to get this 'treatment'.

PDO Threads Around Lips -poor Result and Lasting Problems
I have had fillers in lips before and went to glen dental where she suggested PDO threads as well at the same time. I was persuaded by her reassuring manner that this combined treatment would have a better outcome. I knew there would be bruising but it was excessive. Then a lump appeared one side of my mouth which lasted for five weeks and felt sharp, one day I rubbed my lip there and the thread came out. I did not notice any improvement more than filler on its own. However 6 months later I have these two lines, one vertical and one horizontal below my lip. I returned to her and she said that the threads ate too small and would have dissolved worth no effect by now. bear in mind this was the opposite of what she had said at the consultation! Then she had said that the collagen would develop and then last much longer. Unfortunately I think this has happened but the threads were put in incorrectly. I just hope the collagen breaks down soon as it looks rather distorted. I massage it each night but this doesn't seem to have any affect. I have since read that filler and PDO threads around the mouth should be done at different times.

I don't know if the filler makes a difference. I only had the threads-no filler-and I'm so bruised and swollen. My lips are purple even though the doctor only put threads in the vermillion border and above it. This is the second time I've had threads above my lip. The first time, an esthetician put threads in above my lip (but not the border) and I had absolutely no bruising and little pain. This time I paid extra to go to a doctor and I look like a freak. Granted, it's only been three days but I can tell this is going to have lasting issues. I can't open my mouth very wide, drink, or eat without sharp shooting pains and pulling sensations. I think it may have to do more with where the threads are placed.
Oh, And you're absolutely right about the colleges formation. Both places I went to told me that when the threads dissolve in 3 to 6 months there will be collagen taking its place. I did not see lines of collagen after the first set of lip threads and I certainly hope I don't experience that with these. Perhaps your doctor put the threads too close to the surface.

Problems from PDO Threads
Not good. Extensive bruising and after a week a red lump remained in the corner of my mouth and was raised and irritating for weeks then one day I thought it was a hair and I pulled the thread of which was a shock. I did not notice any significant difference. Also 6 months later I have recently noticed a couple of raised lines where the threads are and it's just occurred to me that this is the collagen formation but it's in very obvious lines not near the lip line and unsightly.

Just had mine done and day three lots of bruising - when I eat or do anything that involves my mouth I bruise more. Not happy about it.
I would warn anyone not to have this done. After seeing another dr i have been told scarring has formed, probably as my body seeing the thteads as a foreign object. The svarring is noticeable and as my face losses more fat due to natural aging it is even more noticeable.
